I caught up with ex-Cardiff City striker Sory Kaba as we discuss his time at the club, his favourite memory as a Bluebird and Sory opens up on a possible return to City last year...

How did your move to Cardiff City come about?


The Cardiff move happen from David Manaseh and the director sport of Cardiff in that time, when the opportunity come to play in England I didn’t think too much, because it was my dream to play there, and also knowing how big time that Cardiff City is.


What were your first impressions of Cardiff City?


My first impression, it was good. How the dressing room welcomed me and the staff around the club was very good and friendly ,that made my integration much easier.


How did you find the adjustment to English Football?


English football is totally my style of play Cross and being in the box duels and is what I love the most.


How did you find the pressure of being expected to score goals quickly?


First I like the pressure and for the striker scoring goals is what we work for, In Cardiff what made it easier for me is the players I had around and the dressing room, I connected directly because the players made it easy for me and the coach and the staff.


You scored in two derbies - what did playing in a derby for Cardiff City mean to you?


Scoring in the two derbies was one of the best feeling I had in my career, especially in front of the fans.


What was your relationship with Sabri Lamouchi like?


My relationship with Sabri Lamouchi was very good we connected directly.


Which was your favourite game at Cardiff City and why?


For me it was Watford, in my opinion we played our best game in my time there and especially the goal I scored.


Sol Bamba has sadly died in the last year, what were your memories of Sol during your time at the club?


Sol Bamba is one of the best person I've met in my career as a person he was a top.


What is your favourite memory in a Cardiff City shirt?


My best memories in Cardiff was everything because I enjoyed every game I have played with the shirt and the love I have received from everyone especially the FANS.


You built a great connection with supporters - what is your final message to them and how much did you appreciate them?


The fans I have to thanks them because since the first game they showed me the love. The only thing I can say is to thank them for the way they supported me, I will never forget it.


If ever given a chance, would you like to come back to Cardiff City one day?


I will go directly, I had a contact with the club last year but the coach in that moment didn’t want. Of course I would like to go back there one day because I will Always be a Bluebird.
