Cardiff City's good run of form ended this afternoon as they were beaten 3-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Player Ratings:

Nathan Trott (4.5) - Let down by weak defending in front of him. Mixed distribution, and was lucky not to be punished on two occasions. Didn't really get near any of the goals.

Perry Ng (6) - Took a while to get going against a tricky winger in Rafiki Saïd. Had a mixed game, did well when moved to centre-back. Decent enough on the ball.

Will Fish (5) - Strong aerially; otherwise failed to take control, as he has since coming back into the side. Not massively convincing on the ball.

Joel Bagan (6) - Grew into the game after a slow start. Put a couple of dangerous deliveries in the box. Defensively, a mixed showing. Didn't look particularly comfortable.

Calum Scanlon (4.5) - Has to do more to stop Fer López for his goal; affected just runs alongside him. Never really settled into the game. Showed flashes going forward; just needed to back himself more.

Alex Robertson (5) - Really quiet. Both in and out of possession, never really got control of the game. Tidy in possession, just needed a bit more purpose to his play.

Joel Colwill (7) MOTM - General play was Cardiff's best player and affected the game well from a City point of view. Missed some glorious chances, one a few yards from goal. Out of possession his usual self, and won many free-kicks as he does. Shame he couldn't get a goal for his work.

Jack Moylan (5) - Never in the game and an unlike Moylan performance. Made wrong decisions in key moments. Generally quiet.

Ollie Tanner (5.5) - Had a decent chance in the first half, just needed to pick a corner (the story of Cardiff's season). Moved to left-back and generally did alright given the circumstances.

Chris Willock (5.5) - An inconsistent game. Made some really good chances and came close to a goal himself, but then let himself down with a poor pass or losing it too easily. Frustrating.

Yousef Salech (7) - Given the limited service, did well. Two great layoffs early on, and caused concern for the Wolves defenders playing out. Came close with a header, which was probably a half-chance more than anything.

Subs:

Rubin Colwill (6) - Did grow into it and had some nice touches. Spread play well.

Cian Ashford (6.5) - Probably the most dangerous player in the final third. Direct and caused a few issues.

Ronan Kpakio (6.5) - Another decent cameo by Kpakio. Defensively sound and decent on the ball.

David Turnbull (6.5) - Same as Kpakio, really. There was no intensity to Wolves' play once Turnbull came on, which probably suited him.

Charlie Holt (N/A) - Nice to see Holt get his first minutes after a strong display for the 21s in the week.

Summary:

Very frustrating against a side whose league position doesn't necessarily reflect how they play. Punished by the same issues again.
