Cardiff City have confirmed the permanent signing of Nathan Trott for £1.5M from Danish side F.C. København.

Trott completes a permanent move to the Welsh Capital after a successful loan spell at The Bluebirds, with the Bermudan keeping sixteen clean sheets in City's promotion campaign. The 27 year-old signs a three-year deal at Cardiff City.
Nathan Trott began his career at Valencia as an outfield player before switching to goalkeeper while representing Bermuda at U15 level. After returning to Bermuda and playing for North Village Rams, he joined West Ham in 2016 and signed his first professional contract in 2019. Trott gained senior experience during a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon, where he became first-choice goalkeeper for much of the season and made 26 appearances. Further loan spells followed at Nancy in France and Vejle Boldklub in Denmark, with his time at Vejle proving especially successful as he helped the club earn promotion and later became one of the standout goalkeepers in the Danish Superliga. His performances in Denmark earned him recognition including a place in the league’s Half-Season Team. In 2024, Trott left West Ham permanently to join F.C. Copenhagen, where he helped the club win a league and domestic cup double in his first season.
The goalkeeper joined Cardiff City on loan in the summer of 2025. Trott would be made first-choice goalkeeper instantly, keeping a clean sheet on his debut away at Port Vale. The Bermudan made Cardiff City history, becoming the first goalkeeper to keep five clean sheets in his first five league fixtures for The Bluebirds. This saw Trott nominated for August Player of the Month.
The Bermudan's importance at the back for Cardiff during their promotion campaign cannot be played down, with the 'keeper making several key saves in games to secure Cardiff points. Trott ranked second for save percentage in League One (72%), third for clean sheet percentage (39%), fourth for goals against per game (1.00) and third for clean sheets.
Cardiff City have now confirmed Trott's services until 2029.
A paramount addition. Great bit of early business by The Bluebirds!
