Cardiff City have completed the signing of Nathan Trott on an initial loan deal with an option to buy if City make an instant return to the Championship.

Trott began his career with Valencia, however as an outfield player. On Bermuda U15 international duty, Trott began his transition to becoming a goalkeeper. The keeper returned to Bermuda following his departure from Valencia and joined North Village Rams, before eventually joining West Ham in 2016.
The goalkeeper signed his first professional contract in March 2019, before joining AFC Wimbledon on loan in the summer. Trott made his professional debut in August and went onto be The Dons' number one before the arrival of Joe Day on loan from The Bluebirds in January 2020, saw Trott demoted to number two keeper for the remainder of the season. Despite this, it was a fairly successful spell for Trott who made twenty-six appearances, keeping for clean sheets and making a Team of the Month.
Trott returned to West Ham for the following season, and made his Hammers debut in an FA Cup substitute appearance against Doncaster Rovers in a convincing 4-0 win.
The young shot-stopper would be on the move again in 2021, joining French side Nancy on loan for the season. It would be a tough season as Nancy faced relegation, finishing bottom. Trott kept three clean sheets in twenty-three games, but Trott came away with some praise, winning Nancy Player of the Month in October and some praise from Nancy supporters.
Trott would be on the move again the following summer, as he joined Danish second division side Vejle Boldklub. The goalkeeper really came into his own at De Røde as he was a key player in his side's promotion to the first division, as Trott featured in twenty-five games keeping fourteen clean sheets.
The keeper would return to Vejle on loan the following season. Trott would only improve as he was vital part of what was the third best defence in Superligaen, conceding just thirty-five goals in thirty-one games, Trott kept eight clean sheets as well as picking up an assist. Trott was named in the Half-Season Team of the League.
Trott would ultimately confirm his permanent exit from West Ham in 2024, as he joined Danish side F.C. København. The keeper made thirty appearances in all competitions, keeping ten clean sheets and helping his side to a League and Domestic double.
The 26 year-old is now on the move again as he joined The Bluebirds on loan for the 25/26 season.
An intriguing one for sure, excited to see how Trott does in Blue!
