Cardiff City have completed the permanent signing of RB Salzburg striker Roko Simic.

Born in Milan, Roko Simic spent his youth days in Croatia. Simic had spells with Dinamo Zagreb, NK Kustošija and Lokomotiva Zagreb.

Lokomotiva would hand Simic a senior debut in 2020 aged 17. Simic would go onto make twenty-six appearances during the season, netting three goals.

After impressing in his debut campaign, RB Salzburg secured Simic's signature for a fee of 4M. The Croatian youth international would immediately head out on loan to Liefering for the 21/22 season.

Simic would show his quality during his loan at Liefering. In twenty-four appearances, the forward netted nineteen times in the second tier of Austrian football. This would see Simic rewarded with a new contract.

Following his return to Salzburg, Simic would soon make his senior debut in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. Simic would go onto make thirteen appearances in the first half of the season, before joining Zürich on loan for the second half of the season.

During the second half of the season, Simic would make sixteen appearances for Zürich, netting four times during his spell in Switzerland.

Simic returned to Salzburg for the 23/24 season, where he would make thirty-seven appearances in all competitions, netting six goals.

With a year left on his deal in Austria, Simic has decided to leave Salzburg and has chosen to join Cardiff City. Simic will now join Kortrijk on loan for the season from The Bluebirds.

An impressive signing and looks to solve our striker problem for years to come, excited to see what Simic can deliver in Belgium!
