Omer Riza has been sacked by Cardiff City.

Omer Riza took charge of The Bluebirds in September following the dismissal of Erol Bulut. City sat bottom of the table when Riza took charge.
Riza tasted defeat in his first game in charge against Hull. However, City bounced back with the first win of the Riza reign and the team's first win of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Millwall.
Cardiff would draw with in the Severnside Derby before the October international break. The Bluebirds came back from the break with a bang. Omer Riza oversaw City's biggest win since 2017, with a 5-0 demolishing job over Plymouth Argyle.
City would continue this form with a 2-0 win over Portsmouth, followed by a 0-0 draw away at West Brom and a dramatic 2-1 over Norwich City. This form saw Riza nominated for October Manager of the Month.
A bleak run would follow with The Bluebirds failing to win throughout November and the majority of December. Things were looking bad for Riza, but Cardiff's first away victory against Watford in the last game of 2024 couldn't have come at a better time for Riza.
City would build on this with a successful January, starting with a strong draw away at Middlesbrough, followed by a cup victory against Sheffield United. After a home draw against Watford, the tragic news broke of the death of Omer's dad, Josh.
The Bluebirds did the Riza family proud with a 3-0 win over Swansea City in a tense South Wales Derby. Cardiff followed this up with a late draw at Millwall and a crucial win against Derby County.
February started very differently with a 7-0 loss at Leeds United. City reacted with a penalty shootout win against Stoke to take The Bluebirds through to the next round of the FA Cup.
Important wins against Hull City and Blackburn Rovers came before the international break. City however failed to build on that after the break, going winless in five leading to Riza's dismissal.
Riza becomes City's third shortest serving manager, behind Mark Hudson and Sabri Lamouchi.
All the best Omer!
