Cardiff City have nicked all three points at Loftus Road through goals from Dimitrios Goutas and Perry Ng.
Cardiff were on the front foot in the first ten minutes of the game, with Rubin Colwill and Yakou Meite causing problems down the flanks. The Bluebirds made the most of this and took the lead through a header from Dimitrios Goutas after sixteen minutes.
The R's grew into the game after the goal, but, there best chance of the half came when Kenenth Paal hit a free-kick straight into the arms of Jak Alnwick. The Bluebirds went in at half-time in front.
Rayan Kolli came on at half time for QPR and made an instant impact, his cross found Paul Smyth at the back post who equalised after seven minutes of the second half.
The Bluebirds almost had an instant reply through Rubin Colwill, he found himself free on the left hand side however was denied by a good save from Asmir Begovic. Colwill was denied once again by Begovic as he had a low shot saved by the Bosnian.
Josh Bowler replaced Kion Etete on the hour mark, his direct run in field created space for him on the edge of the box, however, Begovic was there once again to deny The Bluebirds.
On 74 minutes, Cardiff had a corner, Begovic found himself in no mans land, leaving Perry Ng to nod home and give The Bluebirds the lead. A long clearence from Mark McGuinness almost caught out Begovic, however, he claimed the ball.
The R's thought they had an equaliser in the dying moments, however an incredible save from Jak Alnwick earned Cardiff all three points.
Player Ratings:
Jak Alnwick (7.5) - The man that earned Cardiff all three points with arguably save of the season. Distrubution was good. Felt he could've done slightly better for the goal, however, overall a great outing for The Bluebirds number 21.
Perry Ng (8) - The match winner. Linked really well with Yakou Meite down the right. Limited Larkeche and Paal. Right place at the right time to net his fourth of the season.
Dimitrios Goutas (7.5) - A strong outing from Dimi. Great header for the goal. When up against Dykes he gave him nothing. So crucial to this team.
Mark McGuinness (5.5) - Struggled against Dykes and Smyth. I sympathise with him due to the fact Jamilu Collins was beaten easily, therfore leaving him in a two-on-one a few times, however, he did struggle.
Jamilu Collins (5) - Huge part to play in the goal, not tracking his man. QPR focused their attacks down that side, as teams are doing most weeks which tells you what you need to know. Beaten to the ball far too easily. Did some decent things in attack.
Manolis Siopis (8) - Back to his best. Gave QPR's midfield hell and ran the show for Cardiff. Shadowed the back four perfectly.
Ryan Wintle (8) MOTM - His energy was unmatched. Led the Cardiff press and it was so effective and disrupted QPR who were looking to build from the back. Was good on the ball as well. His best performance of the season.
Joe Ralls (7.5) - A brilliant way to respond from an underwhelming performance against Leicester. Ddidn't shy away from a tackle and put himself about. Great ball for Goutas' goal.
Yakou Meite (7) - Gave everything he had, ran until the final whistle and you can't ask for more than that. Worked well with Ng down the right and caused Paal plenty of problems.
Slightly quieter when he moved up front.
Rubin Colwill (7.5) - Looked like he could hurt QPR everytime he went forward, caused Cannon all sorts of problems. Was great defensively as well.
Kion Etete (6) - Didn't do a great deal. Picking and choosing when to press and challenge for the ball. Knocked off the ball a little too easily at times. When he put himself about found himself in some decent areas.
Subs:
Josh Bowler (7) - Best I've seen Bowler play for a while. The right sub at the right time, and he caused Paal problems down the right with his directness. Unlucky not to score.
Ollie Tanner (6.5) - Fresh legs and forced QPR back a few times, made a decent impact.
Ebou Adams (N/A) - Wasn't really on long enough to do anything, managed to get booked in his little time on the pitch.
Jonathan Panzo (N/A) - Same as Adams.
Summary:
A massively important three points to put Cardiff back on track, just three points off the play-offs once again. Some brilliant individual performances, but also the best team performance in months. Time to work in the transfer market now.
Next time out, The Bluebirds travel to Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
