Cardiff City have made it six losses in eight as they were beaten 2-0 by West Brom.
West Brom opened the scoring after thirty second through Michael Johnston. Tom Fellows eased past Jamilu Collins before cutting it back to Johnston who calmly finished past Ethan Horvath.
Cardiff reacted fairly well to the goal. Wilson-Esbrand had a shot held by Palmer. Wilson-Esbrand then had an effort nick over the bar.
The second half started more if the same. Meite found space on the edge of the box, but fired well side. Aaron Ramsey was introduced near the hour mark and made an instant impact, he headed the ball back to fellow subsitute Kion Etete who fired over from six yards out.
Ten minutes later, Albion doubled their lead through Andreas Weimann, who found himself unmarked in the Cardiff box and tapped into an empty net to confirm all three points.
Player Ratings:
Ethan Horvath (4) - Two shots, two goals. An unfortunate debut for Horvath. Caught in no mans land for the second. Distribution was poor.
Perry Ng (6) - Gave his man a lot of space out wide. One or two decent bits of defensive work. Some nice bits going forward.
Dimitrios Goutas (5.5) - Nowhere to be seen for either goal. However did clear one off the line and all-round was ok.
Nat Phillips (6) - Pretty solid. Put in some decent blocks and some nice interceptions. On the ball wasn't the best.
Jamilu Collins (4) - Beaten far too easily for the first. Struggled all-round really, never found any rhythm in the game.
Josh Wilson-Esbrand (6) - Showed positivity and got forward. Linked well with Ramsey. Final delivery needs more quality, but hopefully that will come.
Ryan Wintle (4) - A really negative performance. Looking backwards even when we're down two, extremely frustrating. Was bypassed when defending too easily.
David Turnbull (6) - Was pretty decent on the ball. Quieter defensively, but that's not his game. Set piece delivery was good.
Rubin Colwill (6) - Looked to make things happen and came alive in the final third, a shame nothing significant came off for him, effort was there.
Famara Diedhiou (5) - Nine touches in 63 minutes tells you the story. No supply and didn't look willing to make his own chances. A quiet evening for Diedhiou.
Yakou Meite (5.5) - He tried, I'll give him that. Failed to do anything of real quality.
Subs:
Manolis Siopis (4.5) - Struggled and was beaten too easily, didn't offer a great deal on the ball. A strange subsitute.
Kion Etete (4) - Can't sugarcoat it, he had to score and a striker at this level should be finding the net. Improvement needed. Linkup play was decent.
Aaron Ramsey (7) MOTM - Added quality and urgency. Should've had an assist or two as he made some big chances. Must start against Norwich.
Josh Bowler (N/A) - Wasn't really involved when he came on.
Summary
Hard to see where we go from here tbh, Bulut tried changing things up tonight and it was same old same old. Some just really negative footballers in that side, that slow everything down. Substitutes were wrong (minus Rambo). Nobody is blameless in this.
