Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Hertha Berlin and Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Kanga.
Kanga signed his first professional contract with French giants PSG, this would follow with a loan move to Creteil-Lusitanos. The forward would go on to make twenty-four appearances in his debut season, netting five goals.
After a successful season, Angers swooped in for the Ivorian in the summer of 2017. Kanga made nine appearances in his first season at Le SCO Les Scoïstes Les Noirs. Kanga would go in to make eighteen appearances in the following season, netting twice.
After making just four appearances in the following season, it was clear Kanga needed a move. This saw the striker make the permanent move to Turkish side Kayserispor. Kanga would spend just one season in Turkey, making fourteen appearances and netting two goals.
Kanga would swap Turkey for Switzerland in 2021, as he joined BSC Young Boys on a permanent deal. This would prove to be the striker's breakout season, as he netted twelve goals in his debut campaign in Switzerland. This form earned Kanga his first Ivory Coast callup.
Kanga picked up where he left off as the Ivory Coast international netted three in his first two of the 22/23 season. However, Kanga's form saw him gain interest, and therefore Kanga made the move to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
Despite a big price tag, Kanga failed to make a mark at Hertha, making fifteen starts and netting just two goals, as Hertha Berlin were relegated from the Bundesliga.
Kanga was keen on a move following Hertha Berlin's relegation. The 26 year-old's wish was commanded as Kanga would join Standard Liege on loan for the 23/24 season. Kanga enjoyed a successful spell in Belgium, as he netted twelve goals as well as assisting three.
Despite bids this summer, Cardiff have managed to secure the striker's signature for the 24/25 season.
An interesting signing for sure, but an exciting one as well, looking forward to seeing the big man in action!
