The Bluebirds made it four Championship wins in a row as they cruised past Rotherham at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Kion Etete celebrating against Rotherham United.

It was a quiet first half from The Bluebirds with no real big chances. Both wingers got in behind once or twice but couldn't provide a quality ball to threaten the visitors.

There was a bit more intent from The Bluebirds as they came out for the second half, especially from Karlan Grant, and that man Grant provided an inch-perfect cross for Kion Etete, and on 56 minutes the striker headed home for his third goal in four games and to give The Bluebirds the lead.

The Bluebirds enjoyed a large amount of possession after taking the lead, which paid off as Perry Ng bundled in the winner in the 90th minute to secure all three points.

Player Ratings:

Jak Alnwick (7) - Didn't have much to do as Rotherham didn't have a shot on target. Kicking was decent but a quiet afternoon for The Bluebirds shot stopper altogether.

Perry Ng (8) - Been brilliant recently and he carried that on this weekend. Not only does he offer so much defensively but he's also becoming a threat offensively. Ng and Tanner work so well together.

Dimitrios Goutas (7) - Saw a lot of the ball as The Bluebirds went backwards quite a few times. Did a good job keeping Hugill quiet, other than that didn't have much to do defensively.

Mark McGuinness (7.5) - Pulled off an incredible block after a Siopis mistake in the middle. Was decent on the ball. Didn't have much to do except for the block.

Jamilu Collins (7) - Wasn't the best in the first half, but picked it up in the second half. Kept Onyedinma quiet. Did fairly well when he found himself marking Hugill.

Manolis Siopis (6) - Wasn't the best performance from Sio in the middle. For every good bit of work he did, he gave a silly ball away which we luckily didn't pay the price for. Did some decent defensive work.

Joe Ralls (7) - Worked well with Grant down the left. Found himself in pockets of space and did well when he got the ball. Some half-decent crosses that didn't result in anything. Getting better each game.

Ryan Wintle (6) - Quiet afternoon for Wintle. Did some nice switching of play to find Tanner and Ng on the right. Wasn't really involved defensively or offensively.

Yakou Meite (N/A) - Hopefully not a serious injury for Meite. Do think he could've really hurt Rotherham but unfortunately wasn't on long enough to do so.

Karlan Grant (7) - Struggled in the first half but was a different player in the second half. When he ran at his man he hurt Rotherham. Brilliant ball for Etete's goal.

Kion Etete (8.5) MOTM - The man of the moment. Been brilliant since the international break and now has yet another goal to show for it. A very good goal as he has to worry about the ball and the man trying to wrestle him in the box. With three goals in four matches Etete is The Bluebirds top scorer in all competitions, not bad for £500K.

Subs:

Ollie Tanner (7.5) - Trademark Ollie Tanner performance. Defenders just don't know what to do when he's running at them. Could've done better in one or two counterattacks but other than that was a threat all game.

Callum Robinson (N/A) - Wasn't particularly involved when he came on.

Ike Ugbo (N/A) - Unlucky not to score, was denied by a great save.

Ebou Adams (N/A) - Same as Robbo.

Summary

It wasn't pretty but The Bluebirds edged out a poor Rotherham side. Some impressive individual performances. Bulut's men now sit in the play-off places.

The Bluebirds now travel to Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
