Cardiff City are in need of a goal scorer this summer. The Bluebirds have tried and failed for a few in the Summer Window and January, but in the summer, it should be Cardiff's priority to secure the services of a reliable goal scorer.
Milan Smit:
Club: Cambuur
Age: 21
Appearances: 29
Goals: 17
Assists: 5
Goals Per 90: 0.65
Market Value: £510k
Definitely an unfamiliar name, Smit has had his breakout season this year and has definitely caught the eye. The attacker who is among the best in the Second Division of Dutch Football is a superb target man. He has an outstanding awareness of the game and an excellent eye for both scoring goals and setting up teammates. Smit is a modern complete forward, with good physical strength, power, stamina and natural fitness. The 21 year-old is an aggressive, hard-working forward and leads the press for Cambuur. Smit feels comfortable in tight spaces thanks to his footwork, technique and ball control.
Sory Kaba:
Club: UD Las Palmas
Age: 28
Appearances: 14
Goals: 1
Assists: 1
Goals Per 90: 0.15
Market Value: £1.5M
Obviously there's sentiment involved in this one. However, Kaba does fit Erol Bulut's system very well, and he's the clinical touch Cardiff currently miss. If we pay more attention to his time in the Welsh capital, Kaba showed that he is dominant in the air and is capable of holding the ball up. 0.63 Goals Per 90 at this level shows Kaba can deliver and has done before, as City fans have seen. Kaba is strong in his duels and capable of driving the team up the field. Bluebirds supporters are aware how much he loves the club. "I will always be a Bluebird". After a failed spell in Spain, I doubt Kaba would turn down the move.
Cedric Teuchert:
Club: Hannover 96
Age: 27
Appearances: 20
Goals: 10
Assists: 1
Goals Per 90: 0.87
Market Value: £1.7M
Teuchert has refound his goal scoring touch in the second division of Germany with Hannover. The 27 year-old is a slightly different profile striker than The Bluebirds have, Teuchert is a forward that can also operate behind the striker and on the flanks, the German forward is clinical, as his Goals Per 90 proves. Teuchert is a good technical player and it shows with his good dribbling ability. The forward also loves a tackle. Teuchert's deal at Hannover is up in the summer.
Kieffer Moore:
Club: Bournemouth (On loan at Ipswich Town)
Age: 31
Appearances: 10
Goals: 6
Assists: 1
Goals Per 90: 0.71
Market Value: £1.8M
This won't be an option people are particularly favourable with, however if Moore doesn't make the permanent switch to Ipswich, I imagine Cardiff will be swift to make a move, and try to secure their long term number one target. Kieffer Moore is a target man who is key in build up play as he brings wingers into play. Moore is a huge aerial threat and is strong in his aerial duels. Since his return to the Championship, Moore has been able to showcase his good abilit on the ball, and has refound his clinical touch, as expected. As already stated, some want to see the back of Moore, however if become's available in the summer, I think it's highly likely Cardiff try for Moore, again.
Ragnar Ache:
Club: FC Kaiserslautern
Age: 25
Appearances: 20
Goals: 14
Assists: 0
Goals Per 90: 0.96
Market Value: £1.8M
Ache has certainly shown this season why there was such hype around his name in Germany early in his career. The 25 year-old is quality in the air and wins the majority of his aerial duels. Ache has shown his clinical touch this season, with such an impressive goal return. The German forward enters the last twelve months of his deal in the summer, with clubs bound to be sniffing around. Ache is impressive when it comes to hold uo play, as he likes to flick balls on and dribble. Ache seems as if he could be the answer to Cardiff's problems.
Summary:
There's coutnless options in this list, that Cardiff are capable of pulling off. Some familiar names that are proven at the club, and would make an instant impact upon arrival, and also some more unfamiliar names that may take some times to adjust, but I'd be confident they'd come good and make an impact in the Welsh capital.
