Cardiff City have had plenty of success in recent years with young loaness from the Premier League, Omari Kellyman being the most recent example last season. The Bluebirds will likely scout that market again this summer, but who are a few of the names that could crop up as potential targets?
Reigan Heskey - Manchester City (18)

Cardiff need to revamp their winger department in the Championship, and Reigan Heskey could be a shrewd addition after an impressive campaign with Manchester City's Academy side, that saw the winger make his senior debut. Heskey is a right-footed left winger who likes to cut inside, the forward drifts through defenders’ challenges as if they’re cones and possesses the self-belief and ball-striking ability to turn solo dribbles into efforts on goal. Heskey is a powerful, athletic winger who uses his size, balance, and explosive pace to shrug off defenders and drive into dangerous areas. Whether cutting inside or attacking wide, he's difficult to stop in one-on-one situations because he accelerates past opponents before they can react. Heskey netted four and set up eleven in the Premier League 2 last season.
Kieran Morrison - Liverpool (19)

Northern Irish international Kieran Morrison is another on the back of an excellent campaign in the Premier League 2, with the Liverpool winger netting fourteen and setting up four in nineteen appearances. The 19 year-old has been rewarded with two first team appearances and an international debut. Morrison is a creative, left-footed attacker who thrives between the lines, combining close control, quick dribbling, and sharp vision to unlock defences. Comfortable as a winger or attacking midfielder, he likes to cut inside, carry the ball into dangerous areas, and create or finish chances himself. Morrison is being tipped for a move to the second tier, and the Welsh Capital could be an excellent place for the young winger to thrive.
Jacob Devaney - Manchester United (18)

Devaney comes off the back of an excellent first loan spell at St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership, with another loan likely to follow for the 18 year-old midfielder. Devaney is a composed, physical defensive midfielder who excels at winning duels, resisting pressure, and controlling the tempo of games from deep. He combines strong defensive instincts with the versatility to play in defence, while his ball-carrying ability allows him to drive forward and break lines when space opens up. The Ireland U21 international also offers versatility, with Devaney capable of playing at right-back. Following the departure of Ryan Wintle, City need to add grit and steel in midfield, something Devaney is fully capable of adding.
Harrison Armstrong - Everton (19)

Toffees fans are of the opinion that Harrison Armstrong needs a loan after spending the second half of last season with them. Armstrong had a good loan in the first half of the season in the Championship with Preston North End. Armstrong is an energetic central midfielder who combines technical quality with relentless work rate, helping his team both in possession and out of possession. He excels at progressing the ball through passing or carries, covers plenty of ground defensively, and shows the composure to influence play in advanced areas. It would signal an ambitious move, but would be a massive signing if possible to pull off, even if it's just for the season.
Harry Howell - Brighton & Hove Albion (18)

Howell is an exceptional young talent emerging at Brighton, and is probably in need of some more first team minutes in this coming season. Howell is a creative, left-footed attacking midfielder who thrives on carrying the ball at speed, beating defenders off the dribble, and creating space for shots or key passes. Comfortable across the front line, he combines flair, close control, and sharp attacking instincts to influence games in and around the box. With The Bluebirds in need of number ten competition, Howell could prove perfect competition. The England youth international could benefit from a year with a Head Coach like Brian Barry-Murphy, also.
Summary:
There are plenty of others that have been missed, such as Stephen Mfuni, Harry Amass, Sverre Nypan, Shea Lacey to name a few. There is plenty of talent in that market that City would be foolish not to utilise this summer.
