FIRST WEEK OF THE WINDOW DONE AS FOUR LINKED

The first week of a crucial January Transfer Window is complete. City's only business so far has seen Ryotaro Tsunoda depart on loan to Kortrijk, and Roko Simic and Josh Beecher return from their respective loans.

In terms of incomings, Cardiff are yet to complete any business, but haven't been linked with two players this week.

Jayden Danns:

Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle have made an enquiry for Liverpool forward Jayden Danns. The eighteen year-old broke onto the scene last season with a brace in the Carabao Cup against Southampton. The forward is at his best as a striker, and has a variety of finishes. He's known for leading the line while also dropping deep to influence play. He has the speed and technical ability to excel in one-on-one situations. Danns now finds himself in need of senior experience with two struggling sides showing interest. Cardiff boss Omer Riza has played down links with the Liverpool forward, however.

Ricky Jade-Jones:

Cardiff have held talks with Peterborough striker Ricky-Jade Jones. The 22 year-old has fifteen goal involvements in all competition so far this season and has had plenty of interest in recent months, most heavily from Championship leaders Sheffield United. The forward likes to play on the shoulder with his blistering pace, as he was the quickest footballer of 2024. The Peterborough forward also is strong in his link up play and is continuing to add a clinical touch to his game. Jones is out of contract at the end of the season.

Malcolm Ebiowei:

Malcolm Ebiowei is reportedly on a long list of Cardiff City targets on loan this window. Ebiowei spent the first half of the season on loan at Oxford, but only managed 186 minutes of football and therefore was recalled by Crystal Palace. Ebiowei has previously had loan spells Hull and RWD Molenbeek, but has only really been successful at his first club, Derby. Ebiowei is a quick and powerful winger that would certainly add flair and power down City's flanks. Riza has also played down links with Ebiowei.

Hector Kyprianou:

Another Peterborough man! And another that's out of contract at the end of the season. Cardiff and Plymouth are reportedly interested in Cypriot international Hector Kyprianou. The midfielder is current Posh captain showing he has the leadership skills needed in that Cardiff team. Kyprianou is a box-to-box midfield who's both physically imposing and technically intelligent. (to learn more on him, read this great analysis). The twenty-three year-old could be perfect in this Cardiff midfield, and help City become a more progressive side.

Summary:

With sides around Cardiff all doing impressive business, it's time City start to make an impact and get some of these players tied up ahead of a huge few weeks.
