Cardiff City are beaten by Leeds 2-0, as The Bluebirds face worse start since 1930.
Cardiff City were down to ten men in the first half, as Joel Bagan was dismissed for a mistimed challenge on Wilfried Gnonto.
The Whites would take the lead five minutes later, as Largie Ramzani finished calmly one-on-one with Jak Alnwick.
City's best chance of the first half came from a set piece. A low striker from Rubin Colwill was held by Ilian Meslier.
Leeds would awarded a penalty just after the hour mark. Pascal Struijk stepped up and had a weak effort saved by Jak Alnwick.
Joel Piroe doubled The Whites' lead late on and secured all three points for Daniel Farke's men.
Player Ratings:
Jak Alnwick (8) MOTM - Kept Cardiff in it on several occasions with some top saves. Also loves a penalty save against Leeds. Deserved to be on the winning side today.
Perry Ng (4.5) - Really struggled against Leeds' pace. Made simple routine mistakes. Another difficult performance in a difficult start.
Calum Chambers (6) - Was fairly solid throughout, and made a few key challenges early on. However, has to do better for the second goal.
Will Fish (7) - Was all-round solid. Dominant in the air and a tidy home debut.
Joel Bagan (5) - Was having an ok game before the red card. Not sure how Bagan has denied a goal scoring opportunity if Gnonto still played on?
Callum O'Dowda (5) - Lazy defending to give away the penalty. Didn't offer a great deal going forward.
Manolis Siopis (5) - Not a great deal to shout about. Just overwhelmed by the Leeds midfield.
Joe Ralls (5) - Same story as Siopis.
Ollie Tanner (5) - Not a great deal to shout about either. Didn't do a great deal going forward, did ok defensively.
Rubin Colwill (6.5) - Definitely tried to make things happen, but nothing notable came off. Got in some good areas, decision making could've been better in some situations.
Wilfried Kanga (5) - Eight touches in one half of football. Think it emphasises the lack of service. Didn't really challenge Leeds great deal.
Subs:
Jamilu Collins (6.5) - Fairly decent return for JC. Mainly called to defend, but did it well.
Anwar El Ghazi (6.5) - The most lively El Ghazi has looked so far in a Cardiff shirt. Got in some good areas, and arguably should've scored.
Alex Robertson (6) - A nice pass or two, outside of that was fairly quiet.
Chris Willock (6.5) - Made a good chance in his limited time on the pitch. Looked to make things happen late on.
Cian Ashford (N/A)
Summary:
A tough watch that has left us all more than deflated.
