Cardiff City have confirmed the loan signing of Granada striker Famara Diedhiou.
Diedhiou made his senior debut for ASM Belfort in 2012. In his debut season he would net three goals in eleven appearances. He then made the move to SAS Epinal in the 12/13 season. Diedhiou enjoyed a successful spell as he netted twelve goals in thirty outings for Epinal.
Diedhiou was on the move yet again, as he joined Gazelec Ajaccio in the 13/14 season. Famara would continue his good form, as he netted thirteen goals in thirty-three outings for Le Gaz. He would find himself on the move again in the summer of 2014, as he joined Ligue 2 side Sochaux.
Diedhiou scored in his second game the club, however struggled for game time, therefore joined Clermont on loan. Diedhiou would spend the next two season on loan at Les Lanciers, as he netted twenty-three times in his fifty appearances. The Senegalese forward would then join Angers on a permanent deal in the summer of 2016, for a rumoured fee of £1.3M.
Diedhiou would go onto spend a season in the top flight of French football with Angers, as he netted eight times for Les Noirs et Blancs. Diedhiou would then join his seventh club in five years, as Bristol City payed a club record fee of £5.3M to secure the forward's signature.
In his first season at The Robins, Diedhiou scored fourteen times in his thirty-six appearances. The striker would match that in the next season, and hit twelve goals the season after that. In February 2021, Diedhiou scored a brace at Middlesborough which saw him surpass fifty goals for Bristol City.
Diedhiou departed in the summer of 2021, as he joined Super Lig outfit Alanyaspor. Famara scored eleven goals in his first season in Turkey. Diedhiou won the African Cup Of Nations with Senegal during the season as well.
Diedhiou only made two appearances in the following season, before joining Granada on loan with an option to buy. Diedhiou helped the Nazaries confirm promotion back to La Liga, this saw his move become permanent.
Diedhiou has made eight appearances from the bench this term, leading to him joining Cardiff City on loan for the remainder of the season.
A reliable option who is proven at this level, good piece of business.
