CITY SEEK TO RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

Cardiff City remain in the Welsh Capital as they host Richie Wellens' Leyton Orient.

The Opposition:
After a slow start Orient pulled it back and finished fifth in the table, achieving a play-off place. Richie Wellens' side missed out on promotion after a play-off final defeat against Charlton Athletic.
Orient have been busy in the market as they look to go one further this campaign. Richie Wellens has added Aaron Connolly from Millwall, Josh Koroma from Huddersfield Town, Killian Cahill from Brighton and Hove Albion, Tyreeq Bakinson from Wycombe Wanderers, Dom Ballard from Southampton, Tommy Simkin from Stoke City, Tayo Adaramola from Crystal Palace, Jack Moorhouse from Manchester United, Lemar Gordon from Fulham, Demetri Mitchell from Exeter City, Idris El Mizouni from Oxford United, Michael Craig from Barnsley and Richie Wellens' son, Charlie Wellens from Reading.
Wellens favours a high-tempo, possession-based style built on quick passing, fluid rotations, and aggressive pressing to dominate territory and control games. His teams look to progress the ball centrally with technical midfielders while full-backs provide attacking width, aiming to overwhelm opponents with intensity and attacking numbers.
The Bluebirds:
City come into this on the back of a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against Burton Albion in midweek, Charlie Webster's 82nd minute goal was enough to secure all three points for The Brewers.
City could see success by patiently circulating possession to draw out Wellens’ press, then exploiting the spaces left behind with incisive vertical passes and well-timed third-man runs.
Opposition Player to Watch:

Josh Koroma has impressed since making the summer move to Orient. Koroma is a direct, versatile forward who thrives on cutting inside from wide areas, using pace and sharp movement to create and finish chances.
The forward started his career at Orient, before joining Huddersfield Town on a permanent deal. Koroma was loaned out to Rotherham United and Portsmouth before completing a permanent move back to Leyton Orient. Koroma has netted twice and set up three in his opening ten games.
Last Meeting:
Cardiff City 1-0 Leyton Orient (2007)

It's eighteen years since these last two sides met. A goal from Peter Whittingham was enough to win the League Cup tie.
Wittingham's powerful shot squeezed in at the near post from a corner was enough to seal the victory for The Bluebirds.
Team News:
Cardiff City - Perry Ng a doubt for this one. Gabriel Osho to be assessed ahead of Orient's visit. Isaak Davies back available. Eli King and Ollie Tanner remain out.
Leyton Orient - Jordan Graham and Theo Archibald out for the visitors.
Preferred XI:
GK - Nathan Trott
RB - Ronan Kpakio
RCB - Dylan Lawlor
LCB - Will Fish
LB - Joel Bagan
CDM - Ryan Wintle
RCM - Rubin Colwill
LCM - Joel Colwill
RW - Isaak Davies
LW - Chris Willock
ST - Callum Robinson
Score Prediction:
Cardiff City 0-0 Leyton Orient
I see this being a close encounter and both sides cancelling each other out.
