Cardiff City are back on the road as they travel to face Rob Edwards' Luton Town.

Callum Robinson celebrating.

The Opposition:

After a breath taking promotion, Luton found themselves in themselves in the Premier League. Unfortunately for The Hatters, their adventure in the top flight would be short lived, despite a valiant effort Edwards' men would come up short, finishing in 18th, this confirming their instant return to the Championship.

As Luton look for to bounce back from their relegation, Edwards has added Mark McGuinness from Cardiff City, Victor Moses from Spartak Moscow, Liam Walsh from Swansea City, Reuell Walters from Arsenal, Shandon Baptiste from Brentford, Tom Krauß from Mainz and Lamine Fanne from AIK.

The main goal of Luton's play is to get the ball to the wing backs, either directly from the back or from the midfield. When building up play, Edwards favours the left-hand side to get the ball to Alfie Doughty. This is for crossing opportunities, where Elijah Adebayo and Carlton Morris come alive for Luton.

The Bluebirds:

City come into this one on the back of a dramatic 2-1 over Norwich City. Cardiff's resilience was tested, with The Bluebirds striking late on with goals from Callum Robinson and Callum O'Dowda.

Cardiff's fullbacks are going to be key in this one. City fans are fully aware of the abilities of Alfie Doughty, therefore The Bluebirds will have to stay alive. Cardiff need to make full use of the space left by The Hatters' attacking fullbacks, and come alive in the box.

Team News:

Cardiff City - A late decision to be made on Alex Robertson. Perry Ng back available for The Bluebirds. Ryotaro Tsunoda, Isaak Davies, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Ralls remain out.

Luton Town - Alfie Doughty and Tom Holmes back available for the hosts. Reece Burke, Mads Andersen and Reuell Walters out for the hosts.

Preferred XI:

GK - Jak Alnwick

RB - Perry Ng

RCB - Dimitrios Goutas

LCB - Calum Chambers

LB - Callum O'Dowda

LDM - Manolis Siopis

RDM - David Turnbull

CAM - Rubin Colwill

RW - Ollie Tanner

LW - Anwar El Ghazi

ST - Callum Robinson

Prediction:

Luton Town 1-1 Cardiff City

The table tells a lie in the sense Kenilworth Road is a difficult place to go. Luton don't have the results to show that just yet.
