As the end of the season approaches, now feels a good time to assess the situation of those that Cardiff City have loaned out this season, and what's next for these players.

Roko Simic:

Roko Simic has had an up and down loan spell in 2. Bundesliga with the Croatian netting three goals and assisting once. The 22 year-old will be returning to the Welsh Capital, after failing to reach the requirements to make his move permanent in Germany. The striker is keen to make an impact in the Welsh Capital, with pre season looking significant for Simic. Roko Simic is understood to have recently received contact from Cardiff over plans for next season.

Jesper Daland:

Daland has split the Düsseldorf fan base since his summer move. After a recent red card, Daland has found himself limited to substitute appearances. Düsseldorf find themselves just one point above the relegation zone with just three games remaining. There is yet to be any indication whether Düsseldorf are interested in triggering the permanent deal in Daland's loan, leaving this up in the air for now, with a decision likely to come when Düsseldorf find out what division they will be playing their football in next season.

Kion Etete:

It has been yet another disappointing loan spell for Kion Etete. The 24 year-old has featured just five time, with the striker typically coming on in the final minutes of games in which St Mirren are chasing a lead. The forward is out of contract in 2027, and I can see City seeking a move for Etete this summer.

Tanatswa Nyakuhwa:

Tanatswa Nyakuhwa's loan came to a premature injury after suffering a serious injury whilst on international duty. The 20 year-old contributed with two assists in seven games during his time at County. Nyakuhwa is rated highly internally, therefore a return to the CCS will happen this summer.

Dakarai Mafico:

Mafico has had a real impact in his six month spell at The Glovers, with the supporters warming instantly to the 19 year-old. The midfielder was recently named Yeovil Town Young Player of the Season. Mafico has played both in midfield and left-wing-back in a loan that has really benefited Mafico's development. A loan in the EFL looks the natural next step for the talented midfielder next season.

Troy Perrett:

A loan move to Yeovil has also been beneficial for Troy Perrett. The 19 year-old has had consistent minutes in the fifth tier and contributed with an assist, and despite a red card in his sixteen appearances, has gained plaudits from Yeovil supporters. Another loan would seem beneficial for Perrett next season.

Luey Giles:

Giles' first taste of consistent senior minutes has been a relative success. The left-back has had to be patient, and been given the task of contributing from the bench in some games. The 19 year-old has contributed with two assists in his eight appearances for The Spitfires. Similar to Perrett, after a positive first loan, another loan looks like the natural progression for Luey Giles.

Michael Reindorf:

It has not been the loan Reindorf and Tamworth would've hoped for. Reindorf has failed to contribute to a goal in his ten appearances for The Lambs, with the 20 year-old having struggled in the National League. Reindorf's Cardiff contract expires in the summer, with a departure now seemingly looking likely.

It has been a mixed start to life in Finland for Luke Pearce. The 21 year-old netted a brace in the Finnish Cup, but has struggled since. The striker has struggled for minutes in the league so far this season. A City departure seems inevitable upon the end of Pearce's loan.

Will Spiers:

A disagreement at Eastleigh, led to Spiers' return to Merthyr for the remainder of the season after impressing in the opening half of the campaign. Spiers appears to have struggled to regain his impressive form from the first half of the season. The 20 year-old has contributed with an assist since his return to The Martyrs.

Jac Thomas:

Thomas has impressed since his March move to Merthyr. The talented fullback has contributed with a goal and an array of consistent good performances. The 19 year-old has a high ceiling at a successful first loan is a great sign of what's to come for the Wales youth international. Another who looks destined for a loan higher up the pyramid next season.

Luke Armstrong:

Luke Armstrong has just significantly contributed to Penybont advancing to the JD Cymru Premier European Play-Off final, after saving a penalty in the semi-final penalty shootout. The 19 year-old has kept seven clean sheets in his twenty-two appearances. Armstrong recently signed a new Cardiff contract, indicating he is rated highly at The Bluebirds.
