Cardiff City have made it four wins on the bounce as they beat Ipsiwch 2-1 with a 100th minute winner from Callum O'Dowda.

Cardiff players celebrating Ryan Wintle's goal.

Cardiff started the game well, as David Turnbull had a powerful strike from 25 yars-out tipped away from the corner. From the resulting corner, the ball fell to Josh Bowler at the back post who forced a save from Hladky, the ball landed at the feet of Perry Ng who had his effort cleared off the line.

Kieffer Moore had his first chance of the afternoon, as he was found unmarked in the Cardiff box, however he flicked his effort wide.

The half ended with a chance from Karlan Grant. KG beat two Ipswich men however his effort sailed over the Ipswich goal.

Horvath was called into action as subsitute Omari Hutchinson found space on the edge of the box, his curling effort was tipped wide from the American shot-stopper.

Ipswich took the lead a minute later, through Kieffer Moore. Moore found himself with room in the Cardiff box and made no mistake, as he fired the ball across Horvath and into the back of the net.

Cardiff thought they had an equaliser as Rubin Colwill teased a brilliant ball to the back post, however O'Dowda couldn't get a strong enough connection to guide the ball into the back of the net.

The Bluebirds had their equaliser just two minutes later. A cross was swung in, O'Dowda headed back across goal and there was Ryan Wintle to hit it home and get one back for Cardiff.

A corner late on was swung in by Joe Ralls, the ball fell to Famara Diedhiou who found Callum O'Dowda unmarked at the back post, and he finished into the roof of the net, the CCS erupted as Cardiff secured all three points.

Player Ratings:

Ethan Horvath (7) - His calmness at the back is such a game changer. Was alert to deny Hutchinson. Not much he could do about the goal. Distribution was decent.

Perry Ng (8) - Kept arguably the best left hand side in the divsion quiet. Storng in his duels and good on the ball, as always. Not sure how much he got on the ball for the assist... bit every touch counts.

Nat Phillips (8) - Battled really well with Kieffer Moore. I think there's an arguement he could close him down quicker for the goal. Other than that, he was dominant in the air and good on the ball, yet again.

Dimitrios Goutas (8) - Put his body on the line for the team today, with some key blocks and sliding challenges. Good on the ball and battled well with Moore, as well.

Josh Wilson-Esrband (6.5) - Was really strong in the first half. Linked up well with Grant, and got in some great spaces. Quietened down in the second, however battled well with Hutchinson.

Manolis Siopis (8.5) - The engine and the spine of the team. When Sio is at the top of his game, Cardiff compete with the top teams. Disrupted the game and was brilliant.

Ryan Wintle (8.5) MOTM - A season full of ups and downs for Wintle, but it's a goal he deserved. Worked really well with Sio. Orchestrtaed things in the middle of the park. A brilliant finish for the goal.

David Turnbull (7.5) - Was everywhere in the first half. Unlucky not to have scored with a good effort. Got in some great spaces and made some really good forward thinking passes. Decent in the second half, as well.

Josh Bowler (6.5) - Did well in the first half, got in some really good positions. Linked up well with Turnbull and Ng. Game fizzled out for him, and he didn't do a great deal in the second half.

Karlan Grant (7) - Trademark Grant. Was a nuiscance to Ipswich's backline. His pace really made Ipswich panic, got in behind a few times, just that end product missing, unfortunately.

Yakou Meite (7) - One of his best performances in a City shirt. Challenged for everything against strong and big defenders. Didn't stop until the second he came off.

Subs:

Rubin Colwill (7.5) - Put in a few great crosses. Came on at the right time and made abig impact, by winning the corner for the winner.

Callum O'Dowda (8) - Goal and an assist in twenty-three minutes, not bad. Made a massive impact and the goal couldn't have gone to a better person.

Famara Diedhiou (7) - Put himself about late on. Big part to play in the winner.

Joe Ralls (N/A) - He was on for a minute, so hard to give a rating. Did deliver the corner for the winner, so made an impact.

Summary:

What a performance in the Welsh capital. It was a performance that deserved a win against a top side. Onto the big one next week.
