Cardiff City are back in the Welsh Capital as they host Jack Wilshere's Luton Town.

The Opposition:

After a slow start under Matt Bloomfield, Jack Wilshere took the helm. Luton have shown improvements under Wilshere, as they now sit firmly in the play-off mix.

Wilshere favors a progressive, possession-based style that encourages midfielders to play on the half-turn and break lines with the ball. He emphasizes intensity, technical bravery, and fluid movement rather than rigid positional play.

The Hatters sit seventh ahead of kick off, and could move to within one point of the play-off places with a win in the Welsh Capital.

The Bluebirds:

City come into this one on the back of a 3-0 thrashing of Rotherham United. Despite the early dismissal of Ryan Wintle, goals from Omari Kellyman, Chris Willock and Isaak Davies sealed Cardiff all three points.

The Bluebirds could disrupt Luton by using an aggressive, man-oriented press to deny Wilshere’s midfielders time to turn and carry the ball. By maintaining strong rest-defence and compact spacing between the lines, they’d force play wide and limit central progression.

Opposition Player To Watch:

Gideon Kodua celebrating.

Gideon Kodua has made a notable impact since his summer move to The Hatters. The 21 year-old is a direct, athletic wide player who looks to use pace and aggression to drive at defenders and attack space quickly.

Kodua is a product of the West Ham Academy. After loan moves to Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town, Kodua sealed a permanent move to The Hatters in February 2026. The forward has netted ten goals and set up four in all competitions this season.

Last Meeting:

Luton Town 0-1 Cardiff City (2025)

Chris Willock celebrating.

City sent out an earlier statement to the division, edging a win over fellow relegated side Luton Town back in August.

The Hatters knocked the door all afternoon, but were denied time and time against by the flawless Nathan Trott. City would reap the rewards as a moment of magic from Chris Willock sealed the three points for Cardiff.

Team News:

Cardiff City - Dylan Lawlor back available for Cardiff. Ryan Wintle suspended. Isaak Davies misses out due to concussion protocol. Yousef Salech, Rubin Colwill and Eli King also out injured.

Luton Town - Hakeem Odoffin, Cohen Bramall, Liam Walsh, Shandon Baptiste, Elijah Adebayo and Emilio Lawrence out for the visitors.

Score Prediction:

Cardiff City 3-2 Luton Town

One of the higher quality sides that will come to the CCS this season, and will certainly pose a threat. I see it playing out similar to the Huddersfield w
