BLUEBIRDS END THE SEASON AT RELEGATED ROTHERHAM

The Bluebirds end the 23/24 season at already relegated Rotherham United.

Ethan Horvath in action for Cardiff City.

The Opposition:

It's been a nightmare campaign for Rotherham United, as they head into the final day with their fate sealed. Matt Taylor started the campaign in charge, after just two wins between August and late October, Taylor was given his marching orders and replaced by Leam Richardson. The 44 year-old took charge of twenty-three games, winning just two, this sealing Rotherham's relegation in early April. Richardson was then sacked and replaced by then Stevenage boss Steve Evans. Thus far Evans has taken charge of two games, drawing one and losing the other.

Steve Evans' sides typically rank very high on passes to the final third, key passes, through passes and progressive passes, this only means one thing: They have the ball, but they are really rapid and direct with it. One of Evans' principles is overloading the wide areas. Evans usually sets his sides up in a high block.

Rotherham sit bottom of the table ahead of this one.

The Bluebirds:

Cardiff come into this on the back of a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough. The Bluebirds played fairly well but were made to rue missed chances against a clinical Boro side.

The Bluebirds will likely enjoy a large amount of possession and will have to breakdown Rotherham. Patience will be key, and Cardiff will have to choose moments to pounce in behind.

The Bluebirds come into this one twelfth and with a win could rise to ninth.
