The Bluebirds closed a successful October with a valuable goalless draw against West Brom this afternoon.

It was a lively start from both sides, but City had the bigger chances, one from Callum Robinson who struck the crossbar with header at the back post.
Jak Alnwick made two big saves before the end of the half. One to deny a strong volley from Darnell Furlong, and another from a one-on-one inside the box.
Callum Robinson should've put City in front around the hour mark. Ollie Tanner put in a brilliant cross, unfortunately Robbo mistimed his effort, before knocking his follow up wide.
Jak Alnwick was forced into two big saves in the second half. One to deny Grady Diangana with his fingertips. Alnwick also denied Josh Maja from close range with a poor header.
City had chances to clinch things at the end. Chris Willock fired well over with a chip effort into an open West Brom net. Yakou Meite found himself in the West Brom box late on, but his cut back to Kanga lacked any real power, a massive let off for West Brom.
And that's all she wrote. A strong point on the road for The Bluebirds.]
Player Ratings:
Jak Alnwick (8) - Another impressive showing from City's skipper for the afternoon. Some real important stops that ultimately earned City the point.
Perry Ng (7.5) - Another strong showing from Ng. Some really promising offensive play, and a solid defensive showing.
Dimitrios Goutas (7.5) - Another strong showing from Dimi. Really strong from defensive set plays, often the first man to the ball.
Calum Chambers (8) MOTM - Chambers' best performance so far for City. Passing was strong, and was incredibly strong defensively. Really growing into the Cardiff shirt.
Callum O'Dowda (7.5) - Held his own up against Diangana. Was strong throughout and got forward well.
Alex Robertson (7) - Read the game incredibly well, with many interceptions. Another promising showing on the ball, with some promising passes.
David Turnbull (7) - Dictated things well for City with some good half turns in difficult areas, some nice passing play. Did his job defensively as well.
Rubin Colwill (6) - Was kept extremely quiet. A more disciplined performance which isn't a bad things, but it limited him going forward at times.
Ollie Tanner (6.5) - A couple of promising balls in to dangerous areas. Another strong defensive showing. Appeared to pick up a knock in the first, so hopefully that's nothing big.
Anwar El Ghazi (6) - Showed good signs early on, but that faded out a bit. Worked hard.
Callum Robinson (6) - Really should've scored, had two easier chances. Worked hard outside of that, some nice link up play. Hopefully the knock isn't anything major.
Subs:
Manolis Siopis (7) - Thought he saw out the game well, with some key moments late on to allow City some breathing room.
Yakou Meite (6.5) - Thought he looked fairly promising. Decision making could've been slightly better in key areas.
Wilfried Kanga (5.5) - Cardiff lost most of their intensity when Kanga came on. Got in some key areas and didn't do a great deal.
Chris Willock (6) - Really should've scored as it was an open net. Was ok outside of that.
Joel Bagan (N/A)
Summary:
A strong point on the road where City showed their character. Plenty of players that are continuing to improve.
