Cardiff City are now winless in nine after a 3-2 defeat against Oxford United.

A deflated Rubin Colwill.
A deflated Rubin Colwill.

City struck the bar after fifteen minutes. Chris Willock's effort took a nick off Will Vaulks and clipped the crossbar before Yakou Meite's rebound was collected well.

Oxford took the lead just before the interval. Przemysław Płacheta broke free down the right and found an unmarked Mark Harris who netted from point-blank range.

The U's fired in a quick fire double after half-time. Ciaron Brown nodded home from a corner before a long range beauty from Placheta.

Cardiff struck twice late on through substitutes Cian Ashford and Callum Robinson but too was too little to late for City.

Player Ratings:

Jak Alnwick (5) - Didn't get near any of the three goals, if you're being picky maybe could do better on the first two, but it was more mistakes of those in front of him.

Calum Chambers (5) - A couple of decent defensive bits and was decent on the ball.

Dimitrios Goutas (4) - Caught out far too often. Should be cutting out the pass for the first.

Joel Bagan (5) - Started fairly bright but struggled once Placheta grew into the game. Broke the lines quite well.

Andy Rinomhota (6) - Another solid enough showing from Rino. Brings unmatched energy whether in midfield or out wide.

Manolis Siopis (6) - Broke things up in the midfield fairly well. Decent enough on the ball.

Alex Robertson (6.5) - Did the dirty work fairly well for Cardiff. Created a handful of opportunities. A decent performance but there's so much more in there.

Callum O'Dowda (6) - Started fairly sharp, getting in behind well. Final delivery needed to be better at times. Was okay defensively.

Rubin Colwill (6) - Another game where no one can question Colwill's work rate, just things not coming off at the moment. Tried to drag the team forward but struggled to do anything of note.

Chris Willock (6) - All his good work from the first half undone by being sloppy for the first goal. Looked City's brightest spark in the first half, strange substitution at half-time.

Yakou Meite (5.5) - Fairly quiet afternoon, but spent most of it working on scraps. Held up the ball fairly well.

Subs:

Callum Robinson (7) - Made a difference late on. Great finish and should've had an assist as well.

Ronan Kpakio (7.5) MOTM - Up and down that right hand side when he came on. Solid in the tackle and got a well deserved assist.

Cian Ashford (7.5) - Building on a positive cameo last weekend. Great finish to give City a tiny bit of hope. Should start on Sunday.

Anwar El Ghazi (4) - Had the game changing moment and needed to make more of it.

Summary:

One win in eleven. No wins in nine. Hello League One.
