Alves joined Leicester City aged eight and worked his way up the ranks to the first team, making his senior debut in January 2022 at the age of sixteen in an FA Cup against Wolves.
This led to an England U17 call-up for the winger, this is where Alves would work with current Cardiff boss Omer Riza. Alves then progressed onto the Young Lions' U18's side.
Alves would face a set back in December that year, as the winger tore his ACL after a horror tackle in an FA Youth game. Foxes boss at the time, Brendan Rodgers, labelled it "one of the worst I have seen".
The winger would return to action just under a year later, in November 2023 in an EFL Trophy match, and impressed for the rest of the season. This led to Alves being rewarded with a new four-year deal in the summer.
The 19 year-old made his Premier League debut against Manchester City in December. Alves joins The Bluebirds for the remainder of the season, giving the young winger his first real taste of senior football.
Summary:
If City can get a fully fit and strong Will Alves this looks an exciting deal. Looking forward to seeing what he's about!
