Cardiff City were beaten 1-0 by Bolton Wanderers this afternoon courtesy of a late stunner from Amario Cozier-Duberry.

Omari Kellyman in action.

The first half offered very little excitement from either side. David Turnbull's header in the box was well wide. Mason Burstow had a handful of half chances for the hosts, but made little of them.

Just as the game looked to be ending all square, Amario Cozier-Duberry was afforded too much room on the edge of the box, and fired a left footed effort into the top corner to seal all three points for Bolton.

Player Ratings:

Nathan Trott (7) - Commanded his area well. Distribution was fairly good, also. Not a great deal to be done on the goal.

Perry Ng (7) - Seemed to have Jordi Osei-Tutu's number. Tidy in and out of possession. Looked to get City forward.

Will Fish (6) - A quiet afternoon for Fish. Some of his nice trademark diagonals but other than that saw very little of the action. Solid enough when called into action.

Dylan Lawlor (6) - Same story as his centre-half partner. Could do with being that touch quicker on the ball at times, but was solid enough.

Joel Bagan (7.5) - Kept Cozier-Duberry quiet in his time on the pitch. Picked out a great cross that David Turnbull had to do a lot more with. Generally a positive performance. Cardiff definitely felt the impact of Bagan's injury.

Alex Robertson (7.5) MOTM - A pleasing return to the side. Looked like the Robertson we came to love last season. Tidy on the ball and some nice footwork. Read the play really well, stopping several dangerous attacks. Another that City certainly missed when he was replaced.

Rubin Colwill (4.5) - Really struggled. Just an afternoon where nothing went right for Colwill, not through a lack of effort. Simple passes misplaced, those pivotal moments messed up. Difficult afternoon for the City skipper.

David Turnbull (5) - Probably had Cardiff's best chance of the afternoon, and squandered it. Also has to do so much more to stop Cozier-Duberry. Tidy enough on the ball, linked up well with Nyakuhwa.

Omari Kellyman (7) - The only sort of bright spark in the final third for Cardiff. Looked to get forward, and again we saw glimpses of his fast feet and skill. Did a good job out of possession.

Isaak Davies (5.5) - Service to Davies was very poor. Started sharply but game just went by without him, really. Another quieter performance from Davies.

Yousef Salech (6) - The service to Salech was even more non-existent. Won some good flick-ons into dangerous areas, but had no one working off him. Worked hard leading the press.

Subs:

Cian Ashford (5) - Another cameo that left a lot to be desired. A player shot of confidence that is getting thrown in unnecessarily. Needs a little spell out of the side.

Tanatswa Nyakuhwa (5.5) - Had come on and freshened things up. Looked to get at his man with varied success. A stray ball leads to the goal, and ultimately costs City a point.

Ronan Kpakio (6.5) - Tidy cameo, looked to get forward.

Ryan Wintle (6) - Seemed to be the only Cardiff player who wanted to go and getting a winner. Huge credit for the work rate both up and down the pitch in the closing stages.

Callum Robinson (N/A)

Summary:

A game that leaves a lot to be desired. A big one up next nonetheless!
