Cardiff City will make the trip to the MKM Stadium as they face Liam Rosenior's Hull City.
The Opposition:
After a 15th place finish last season, Liam Rosenior made a major improvement in the summer with the additions of Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa, Liam Delap from Man City, Tyler Morton from Liverpool, Bora Aydinlik from Fenerbahce, James Furlong from Brighton, Scott Twine from Burnley, Aaron Connolly from Brighton, Ruben Vinagre from Sporting, Jason Eyenga-Lokilo from Sparta Rotterdam and Ryan Allsop from The Bluebirds.
Since his arrival at The Tigers, Rosenior has implemented a possession focused play style, with emphasis on building out front he back. Hull have seen a considerable improvement defensively since Rosenior's arrival. With Hull's pace in attack they seek to get in behind defences quick by overloading the forward areas.
Hull sit 7th in the Championship table, and a win against The Bluebirds could see them go as high 5th.
The Bluebirds:
Cardiff come into this fixture off the back of a weak performance against Birmingham City in midweek. The Bluebirds look for ideas in attack but will seek to set that right against a solid Hull side.
The Bluebirds will have to stay compact and as a unit to prevent The Tigers breaking them down. This will mean Cardiff will be forced to do their work on the counter attack, and make the most of what's expected to be a limited amount of chances.
Team News:
Cardiff City - Joe Ralls has been ruled out for this one. There's also question marks over the availability of Perry Ng. Ramsey and O'Dowda still out.
Hull City - Jaden Philogene and Dogukan Sinik will be missing for the hosts. Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and Adama Traore are doubts.
Preferred XI:
GK - Alex Rúnarsson
RB - Perry Ng
RCB - Dimitrios Goutas
LCB - Jonathan Panzo
LB - Jamilu Collins
RDM - Manolis Siopis
LDM - Ryan Wintle
CAM - Rubin Colwill
RW - Josh Bowler
LW - Karlan Grant
ST - Kion Etete
Score Prediction:
Hull City 2-0 Cardiff City
I could see it being a long afternoon for The Bluebirds. I can see an organised Hull City side hurting The Bluebirds and shutting them out.
