Cardiff City fought back to earn a draw against Swansea City with a second half equaliser from Callum Robinson.
Ethan Horvath kept out Liam Cullen after a tame effort in the opening five minutes. Cullen would find the net five minutes later with a tap in at the back post to put the hosts in front.
The Bluebirds' only real chance of the first half fell to Wilfried Kanga. Willock threaded a ball through to the City striker who fired over.
Cardiff continued to grow into the game as Colwill flashed a ball across the box, however no City player was there to convert.
City found a leveller through Callum Robinson. Ollie Tanner broke down the right and found Robinson with an inch-perfect cutback, and Robinson clinically finished.
The game became scrappy late on, with tempers flaring. Cardiff boss Erol Bulut saw red just before the full-time whistle.
Player Ratings:
Ethan Horvath (6.5) - Not much Horvath can do about the goal, a good save initially then let down by defenders. A couple of decent saves after that. Distribution was frustrating.
Perry Ng (7) - Limited Ronald to very little. Looked far better when going forward in the second half. Won the majority of his duels, and was solid defensively.
Calum Chambers (7) - Solid defensively and put his body on the line. Frustration came a bit on the ball, as he was one dimensional, but defensively it was a fine effort.
Jesper Daland (8) MOTM - He did a roulette, enough said. An exceptional debut, comfortable enough to drive out of defence. Grew into the game after the goal.
Callum O'Dowda (6.5) - Quite a few sloppy pieces on the ball, and just hitting and hoping. Should be doing better for the goal. However, improved significantly defensively after the goal. Linked up well with El Ghazi.
Manolis Siopis (6) - Another who was fairly sloppy on the ball. Was made to cover a lot of ground due to the lack of press from a midfielder in front of him. One or two nice defensive pieces.
Alex Robertson (7) - Thought it was a classy performance from Robertson. Put himself about a bit. A couple of decent passes to try and get City forward. Positive signs.
Aaron Ramsey (5.5) - Was waiting for Ramsey to spring into life, but it didn't happen. The main reason Swansea broke the lines so easily, as Rambo put little to no press on Darling.
Yakou Meite (6) - Put himself about a bit and tried to get forward, nothing significant came off. Solid defensively.
Chris Willock (7) - A couple of really good runs from deep. A good ball to setup Kanga. Looked tricky whenever he picked up the ball. Decent defensive work.
Wilfried Kanga (5.5) - Similar story to Ramsey. Kanga was asking for support to press, but no City player budged, so I sympathise with him slightly. A couple of half chances, not much to shout about.
Subs:
Rubin Colwill (7) - Came on and did what he does best. Just incredibly awkward to play against. Great ball to find Tanner just before the goal. Made a great impact on the game.
Ollie Tanner (7.5) - What more could you ask? Tanner when being direct is so so effective. Tymon didn't have an answer to Tanner's pace and power. Great ball to find Robinson.
Callum Robinson (8) - The man of the moment. A goal that has been written in the stars after years of torment. Such a good finish as well, just so pleased it fell to Robbo. Time to kick on now.
Anwar El Ghazi (6.5) - Was solid enough. Evident he'd been out of action a while, however a couple of encouraging signs. Worked well with O'Dowda.
Conclusion:
All us fans ask for in this fixture is a bit of fight, and we got that in the second half, and we showed we can play some great stuff when we're on the front foot. Time to kick on.
