Cardiff City registered just their second away win of the season this afternoon with a crucial victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Cardiff took an early lead through Yousef Salech. The ball fell to Sivert Mannsverk on the right hand side, the midfielder found Salech who headed home for his sixth City goal.
Rovers soon struck back through Yuki Ohashi. Winger Emmanuel Dennis beat Andy Rinomhota before crossing to find Ohashi at who fired past Ethan Horvath at his near post.
Horvath was called into action at the end of the first half. Sondre Tronstad's powerful effort was palmed away by the American international.
City re-took the lead in the second half through Yakou Meite. After some good work from Will Alves down the left, the winger found Meite with an inch-perfect cross, and the forward headed home to secure The Bluebirds a crucial three points.
Player Ratings:
Ethan Horvath (6.5) - Probably should do better got the goal, however made up for it with a good save and commanded his area well. Distribution was decent.
Andy Rinomhota (5.5) - Struggled against Dennis, and needs to do far more to prevent the cross for the goal. Did improve after that.
Perry Ng (6.5) - Also can do more to prevent the goal. Did make a few key interventions to make up for it. Read the game well.
Will Fish (7) - Classic solid Fish performance. Stood up to the physical battle with Gueye. Calm and assured performance.
Joel Bagan (6.5) - Got caught once or twice, but other than that was also solid. Made a few key tackles.
Callum O'Dowda (7) - Struggled a bit in the first half, but came out a different player in the second half, got up and down well and worked well with Alves.
Sivert Mannsverk (8) - Best game in a Cardiff shirt. Excellent cross for the goal and put in a shift in the midfield. Reads the game really well.
Calum Chambers (7.5) - Broke up play as well as usual. Stood up to his defensive duties well and was decent enough on the ball.
Joe Ralls (7) - Did his job and was solid enough. Looked as if Ralls has been rushed back too soon.
Yousef Salech (7.5) - Scoring all the time! Another well-taken goal. Typical Salech performance outside of the goal, battled for everything and gave the Blackburn defence a tough time.
Callum Robinson (6) - Just didn't get going. Had a couple of half chances but struggled to get into the rhythm of the game. Did work hard.
Subs:
Rubin Colwill (7.5) - Worked extremely hard and one a lot of his individual battles. Carried the ball really well.
Will Alves (8) MOTM - Wow. He is special. Fearlessness and pace we've cried out for years. An excellent assist and could've had a goal or two himself. What a truly special talent.
Isaak Davies (6.5) - Worked hard with a couple of smart pieces late on.
Yakou Meite (7.5) - Such a well-taken goal, and nice one for Meite who's had a tricky season.
David Turnbull (6.5) - Tidy cameo. Nice to see Turnbull back in action.
Summary:
A huge win and vital points given results around us today! Big eight games remaining.
