Cardiff City fell to their first league defeat of the season, as they lost 2-1 to QPR this evening.

Perry Ng celebrating.

Player Ratings:

Nathan Trott (6) - Let down by others' mistakes for the goals. Distribution was decent, played the sweeper role quite well, also.

Perry Ng (7.5) - A top finish to give City a bit of life. Generally, played better than he has been recently. Strong in and out of possession.

Gabriel Osho (8.5) MOTM - Could have been a lot more if it wasn't for Osho. Got himself in front of two or three goals. Recovery pace was notably impressive and was strong throughout. In possession, progressive and impressive.

Joel Bagan (6) - Had a quiet game. Saw a lot of the ball but didn't do a great deal with it. Fairly assured defensively.

Calum Scanlon (6) - Caught out quite a few times defensively, and didn't make a great deal of an impact in the final third, failing to get around the winger on several occasions. Quite frustrating.

Alex Robertson (6) - Not sure he's quite to blame for the first, as it's being suggested; however, did generally struggle. Caught once or twice and lucky not to be punished. Set-piece delivery must improve. General on-the-ball play, was some nice pieces, picking out the wingers quite well on a few occasions.

Rubin Colwill (5) - At fault for the second goal, by playing a pass that was never really on. Looked leggy, so naturally had a quiet game both in and out of possession.

Cian Ashford (5) - Same as Rubin, pretty much. Missed a glorious header at the back post, which he had to do better from.

Ollie Tanner (4.5) - Overall, very frustrating. Lamptey just had Tanner and beat him relentlessly. Some sloppy pieces didn't help this evening. Dispossessed just a touch too easily. Out of possession, didn't offer a great deal. Work to be done.

Jack Moylan (5) - Lacked his usual quality. Lacked any real composure, also. Did play a nice ball or two through to Salech. Didn't offer a great deal out of possession.

Yousef Salech (5) - I don't know what's happening with Salech, certainly doesn't look like a striker with four goals in six games, just looks void of confidence. Lacked any threatening movement and failed to hold the ball up. Did well in the air.

Subs:

Krystian Bielik (7) - Can't do a great deal for the second; just not quick enough for Burrell. Generally, strong and imposed himself well. Some nice pieces on the ball.

Chris Willock (5.5) - Tried playing the occasion, and generally didn't pull off most of what he tried. A dangerous cross or two.

Joel Colwill (N/A)

Callum Robinson (N/A)

Isaak Davies (N/A)

Summary:

Some real concerns coming away from that. Hopefully, put it down as one of those days and kick on and put on a show on Saturday.
