The Opposition:
Sheffield Wednesday completed 'the great escape' last season. After an awful start under Xisco Munoz, Danny Rohl took over and guided Sheffield Wednesday to safety in the last few games of the season.
Rohl has looked to build on his success from last season by adding Jamal Lowe from Bournemouth, Shea Charles from Southampton, Ike Ugbo from Troyes, Yan Vakery from Angers, Max Lowe from Sheffield United, Olaf Kobacki from Arka Gdynia, Nathaniel Chaolbah from West Brom, James Beadle from Brighton, Charlie McNeill from Manchester United, Ben Hamer from Watford and Svante Ingelsson from Hansa Rostock.
Rohl's principles are non negotiable as he allows his players freedom to express themselves within a dynamic team. Rohl isn't necessairly a possession-focused coach, he focuses more on staying compact and being a hard team to break down.
The Bluebirds:
Cardiff come into this after back-to-back defeats. Cardiff were slow in both games, unlike how they've been so far under Omer Riza. They will look to set that right against a side that will come at that, and leave little room for error.
City will have to stick to their principles in this one, try being on the front foot and answering Wednesday's aggressive style.
Team News:
Cardiff City - Joe Ralls returns for The Bluebirds. Aaron Ramsey, Kion Etete, Isaak Davies and Ryotaro Tsunoda remain out.
Sheffield Wednesday - Michael Ihiekwe back available for the hosts. Akin Famewo and Olaf Kobacki out for Wednesday.
Preferred XI:
GK - Jak Alnwick
RB - Perry Ng
RCB - Dimitrios Goutas
LCB - Calum Chambers
LB - Callum O'Dowda
RCM - Alex Robertson
LCM - David Turnbull
CAM - Rubin Colwill
RW - Anwar El Ghazi
LW - Chris Willock
ST - Callum Robinson
Prediction:
Sheffield Wednesday 1-3 Cardiff City
I feel Wednesday will start strong, but I feel (really hope) City will overwhelm Sheffield Wednesday late on.
