Cardiff City are back in the Welsh Capital to host John Eusace's Blackburn Rovers.

Alex Robertson in action.

The Opposition:

Blackburn had a topsy turvy 23/24 season. John Dahl Tomasson began the season at Rovers, but after a strange departure, John Eustace took over and guided Blackburn to safety on the final day.

John Eustace has been busy in his first summer window as Rovers boss, adding Makhtar Gueye from RWDM, Todd Cantwell from Rangers, Yuki Ohashi from Sanf. Hiroshima, Lewis Baker from Stoke, Danny Batth from Norwich, Andreas Weimann from Bristol City, Balazs Toth from Fehervar and Amario Cozier-Duberry from Brighton.

Eustace has a direct style of play with heavy reliance on long balls. The 44 year-old has been praised for his man management skills, Eustace is known for being a great motivator and his teams show fighting spirit. However, Eustace has been criticised for his game management, things like substitutes too late or the wrong substitutes at times.

The Bluebirds:

Cardiff City come into this one on the back of a defeat against Luton Town. City failed to reach the heights of recent performances, but will look to bounce back as Blackburn visit the Welsh Capital.

With the way Blackburn are likely to setup, it's likely Cardiff will have the majority of the ball, this could benefit City under Riza, with City playing free-flowing attacking football.

Team News:

Cardiff City - Alex Robertson is back available for The Bluebirds. Kion Etete, Joe Ralls, Aaron Ramsey, Ryotaro Tsunoda and Isaak Davies remain out.

Blackburn Rovers - Owen Beck could be back available for Rovers. Tyhrys Dolan is suspended for the visitors. Amario Cozier-Dubbery, Hayden Carter, Scott Wharton and Arnor Sigurdsson are out injured.

Preferred XI:

GK - Jak Alnwick

RB - Perry Ng

RCB - Dimitrios Goutas

LCB - Calum Chambers

LB - Callum O'Dowda

RCM - David Turnbull

LCM - Alex Robertson

CAM - Rubin Colwill

RW - Anwar El Ghazi

LW - Chris Willock

ST - Callum Robinson

Prediction:

Cardiff City 2-0 Blackburn Rovers

Cardiff need to be dominant, and if they play to the best of their abilities then I'm confident City can win this one.
