Cardiff were beaten 5-0 by Scott Parker's Burnley this afternoon.

Wilfried Kanga in action against Burnley.

Burnley took the lead after nine minutes, after a pass back from Goutas was mis controlled by Ethan Horvath before rolling into the City net.

Cardiff answered to going one down well. Yakou Meite struck the post after fourteen minutes. The Bluebirds had a goal disallowed not long later, as Wilfried Kanga was in an offside position.

The hosts doubled their lead after half an hour, as Koleosho calmly finished in the box.

The Clarets added a third not long into the second half. Brownhill tucked away his first of the afternoon with a simple finish.

A quick fire double from Amdouni and Gudmunsson late on secured all three points for the hosts on a difficult afternoon for City.

Player Ratings:

Ethan Horvath (2) - A performance that can't be defended. Mistakes happen, but I think Horvath can stop two of the others. Unfortunately there was no coming back from such an early mistake.

Perry Ng (5) - Came in and out of the game. Koleosho got the better of him on a few occasions, but Ng won a few against him as well. Probably had the closest chance of the second half.

Calum Chambers (5) - A difficult one to rate. Not involved in any of the goals, but I guess you could argue he should be. Decent on the ball.

Dimitrios Goutas (4) - Evident Goutas isn't comfortable on the left side. Caught in no man's land for the second. Just didn't look comfortable.

Callum O'Dowda (5) - Think O'Dowda was extremely quiet. Most of Burnley's work came down the other side. Could do better with the free header from a corner.

Manolis Siopis (6.5) MOTM - Sensational in the first half. Things slipped away in the second half. Shrugged off for the fifth with ease.

Joe Ralls (6.5) - Things fell apart when Ralls went off. Perhaps showing his importance to the team. Was solid when he was on and made a couple of decent chances. Hopefully the injury isn't too serious.

Aaron Ramsey (6) - Looked to make things happen, but not a great deal came off. Praying that his injury isn't serious, but watching the way Rambo was moving, it looked bad.

Yakou Meite (6) - Unfortunate not to score. Looked up for it and worked hard, got in some decent areas, but can't ignore Yak did have City's best chance.

Chris Willock (6) - Was hacked down when he was getting in decent areas. Put a couple of decent balls in dangerous areas.

Wilfried Kanga (6) - Unfortunately denied of his first City goal. Looked dangerous at times but that faded out before his substitution.

Subs:

Rubin Colwill (6) - Looked to create, but seemed to hit a brick wall at times. Movement was decent just failed to create anything game changing.

Joel Bagan (6) - Didn't do a great deal when he was on. Wasn't far off scoring, denied by a great ricochet from a Burnley defender.

Malachi Fagan-Walcott (6.5) - Looked decent. A nice challenge on Weghorst to settle him into the game. Comfortable on the ball.

Ollie Tanner (N/A) - Game was away from Cardiff not long after he was introduced.

Callum Robinson (N/A) - Same as Tanner.

Conclusion:

Obviously a difficult one to take for so many different reasons. Have to brush it under the carpet, and a new start next weekend, which is already difficult enough as it is.
