Cardiff City their search for a first league victory of the season as they host Neil Harris' Millwall.
The Opposition:
The Lions experienced a turbulent 23/24 campaign. Gary Rowett was at the helm to begin the season, before his dismissal in October. Joe Edwards was chosen as Rowett's successor and hit the ground running, however things took a turn for the worse as Edwards was dismissed in November. Neil Harris would return to the club, winning eight of Millwall's last thirteen, to secure a comfortable mid table finish.
Milwall have been active in the summer window with the arrivals of Ryan Wintle from Cardiff City, Macauley Langstaff from Notts County, Japhet Tanganga from Spurs, Daniel Kelly from Celtic, Femi Azeez from Reading, Josh Coburn from Middlesbrough, Mihailo Ivanovic from Vojvodina, Liam Roberts from Middlesbrough, Lucas Jensen from Lincoln City and Calum Scanlon from Liverpool.
Harris has kept things simple and reverted back to a 4-4-2. Not aesthetically pleasing football, but a style that is getting results. A dogged and direct 4-4-2 formation aiming at stealing points on the counter-attack. That sort of aggressive football chimes with the anti-aesthetic approach similar to his days at The Bluebirds.
The Bluebirds:
Cardiff come into this on the back of yet another defeat. After a promising opening twenty minutes, a calamitous defensive showing saw City confirm their worst ever start to a league season.
Considering Harris' style, there's a good chance Cardiff could have the majority of possession, dependant on the team selected, this could play into the hands of The Bluebirds, with players like Alex Robertson, David Turnbull and Rubin Colwill possibly proving key.
Team News:
