Cardiff City return to action as they host Danny Rohl's Sheffield Wednesday.

Ollie Tanner pre-match.

The Opposition:

After a mixed season Sheffield Wednesday sit slap-bang in the middle of the Championship table ahead of the run-in, with an outside chance of the play-offs.

Rohl's principles are non negotiable as he allows his players freedom to express themselves within a dynamic team. Rohl isn't necessairly a possession-focused coach, he focuses more on staying compact and being a hard team to break down.

Wednesday sit twelfth ahead of this one, and could move up to ninth with victory in the Welsh Capital.

The Bluebirds:

City come into this on the back of a crucial win against Blackburn Rovers before the break. A first half goal from Yousef Salech was cancelled out by Yuki Ohashi, before Yakou Meite headed home a winner in the second half.

Cardiff are going to have to disrupt Wednesday centrally as that where their main source of threat comes, as well as being on it defensively from set pieces. The Bluebirds are going to have to try what's bound to be an aggressive Wednesday storm following a derby defeat last time out.

Team News:

Cardiff City - Callum Robinson and Chris Willock doubtful for this one. Ollie Tanner, Alex Robertson and Anwar El Ghazi back available for The Bluebirds. Jak Alnwick, Aaron Ramsey and Ronan Kpakio remain out.

Sheffield Wednesday - Stuart Armstrong and Akin Famewo doubts. Max Lowe, Di'shon Bernard and Yan Valery remain out.

Preferred XI:

GK - Ethan Horvath

RB - Perry Ng

RCB - Will Fish

LCB - Jesper Daland

LB - Callum O'Dowda

RDM - Calum Chambers

LDM - David Turnbull

CAM - Rubin Colwill

RW - Ollie Tanner

LW - Will Alves

ST - Yousef Salech

Prediction:

Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

City are going to face a fiery Wednesday, who come into this one on the back of a derby defeat. I could see the visitors controlling the first half, before subs change the game and salvage a point for Cardiff.
