Cardiff City battled for a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough against an non-clinical Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon.

Ike Ugbo had a goal ruled out after a minute. The former Bluebirds strayed into an offside position despite finishing past Jak Alnwick.
Chances came for both Wednesday and The Bluebirds. Josh Windass ran throough on goal, but lifted his chipped effort over the bar. Ollie Tanner came close for City, his snapshot effort was saved well by James Beadle.
Ollie Tanner would then break the deadlock for City. Callum O'Dowda found Callum Robinson who drove up the pitch and had an effort saved, but Tanner was there on the rebound to add his second of the season.
Sheffield Wednesday would hit back instantly. A ball was flashed across the six yard box and finished by Di'shon Bernard at the back post.
There weren't many chances in the second half. Anthony Musaba and Ollie Tanner both had efforts parried from outside the box for both sides.
Both teams were forced to settle for a point in difficult conditions.
Player Ratings:
Jak Alnwick (7) - A few key moments. One for Ugbo on the line then the effort late on. Not a great deal to be done on the goal. Some nice distribution.
Perry Ng (7) - A real solid showing from Ng. Showed some strong things defensively, and got forward well. Outnumbered for the goal, not sure he can do much.
Dimitrios Goutas (7) - Just got his body in front of everything. Some real key last ditch blocks as well. Unlucky not to score. Could be more active for the goal.
Jesper Daland (7) - Same as Goutas, really. Dominated things in the air. Should stop the cross for the goal, however.
Callum O'Dowda (7.5) MOTM - Same as Ng on the other side. Some key challenges to stop Wednesday in key areas. Played a big role in the goal, through his tenacity.
Alex Robertson (6.5) - Swept up well and wasn't scared to get involved. Limited on the ball, but held his own well.
David Turnbull (6) - Failed really to get in the game. Worked hard defensively, but very little to shout about on the ball.
Rubin Colwill (6.5) - Similar to Robertson, really. Worked hard defensively, and a couple of nice pieces on the ball.
Ollie Tanner (7.5) - Right place at the right time. Some other decent chances outside of that. Some decent passes as well.
Yakou Meite (6) - Held his own in a difficult battle against Bernard. A handful of nice pieces, like the cross to Tanner. Was quite clumsy out of possession. Needed to be more alert at times.
Callum Robinson (7) - Played a crucial role in the goal, did well to drive and get a shot off. Allowed City breathing room and put some nice balls through, team mates just let him down slightly.
Subs:
Joel Bagan (6.5) - Did fairly well in that LCB role. A couple of decent blocks. Some nice passes from deep as well.
Joe Ralls (6) - Fairly quiet cameo, but a difficult game to come on in, especially in midfield when Charles and Bannan were doing so well. Held his own though.
Manolis Siopis (7) - Just came on and did what Sio does best, frustrated the opposition. Some good recoveries, and looked after the ball well.
Wilfired Kanga (N/A)
Summary:
Not pleasant viewing but a good point on the road, given some big players missing.
