CARDIFF EARN POINT AT PRIDE PARK

Cardiff City and Derby County played out a 2-2 draw at Pride Park this afternoon.

Player Ratings:
Nathan Trott (8) - Crucial for Cardiff yet again. Made up for errors made by the defence in front of him with excellent saves. Saw a lot of the ball, did alright with it.
Ronan Kpakio (4.5) - Struggled defensively. Blackett-Taylor beat him time and time again. Lucky not to be punished for a very underhit header back to Trott. Has to do more for the second goal. Going forward, did fairly well, assisting Ashford's goal.
Perry Ng (5) - Was also error-prone. Did make an incredible challenge within the first minute to deny Clark. Feel he can do more for the first goal. Distribution was decent.
Joel Bagan (8.5) MOTM - Left centre-back role very much suits Bagan. Read the game incredibly well and picked out some top passes. Intercepted and stopped numerous attacks. Apart from one shaky moment, including Rhian Brewster, was very good for City.
Calum Scanlon (7) - Picked up where he left off on Monday. Drove forward very well with the ball, and recovery pace was key in defence. Decent on the ball.
Alex Robertson (7.5) - Grew into the game. Picked up the ball well from the back four and progressed City. Maybe too keen to play that killer ball at times. Out of possession, particularly key. Numerous tidy pieces in possession.
Rubin Colwill (8) - Another who picked up where he left off on Monday. Nice assist to Salech, which left the striker with little to do. Bossed the game in and out of possession, picking out some nice passes. Excellent save denied him a second in as many games. Dominant and impressive.
Cian Ashford (8) - Much better than Monday. Excellent finish for the goal. Worked very hard out of possession. Low centre of gravity in effect again, drawing a couple of fouls and driving well with the ball.
Ollie Tanner (7.5) - Came under heavy criticism on Monday (which I disagreed with); however, looked far better today. Plays a crucial role in the second goal, with a good drive from deep before finding Colwill. Did well out of possession, and tidy when involved. Much better.
Jack Moylan (6) - A quieter afternoon for the Irishman. Saw plenty of the ball, just that final product needed a bit more quality. Worked hard out of possession. Hopefully that injury is nothing to worry too much about.
Yousef Salech (8) - Well-taken goal, and looked a constant threat in and around the box. Denied a second by an excellent save from a corner. Given nothing by the referee (again), however, held up the ball well and competed in the air.
Subs:
David Turnbull (7) - Minus a few horror attempts at goal, came on and did what Turnbull does. Assured things in a tidy manner. Added a level of calmness for Cardiff.
Chris Willock (6.5) - Grew into it after a not-so-good start. Some nice feet on show and drove well with the ball. Final delivery needs to improve.
Joel Colwill (7) - Similar to Turnbull, came on and did what Joel Colwill does. Worked hard out of possession and won a couple of free-kicks to relieve pressure late on.
Isaak Davies (6) - Never really involved. Tidy in possession.
Summary:
A more than respectable point within the context of Cardiff's current situation. Some nice football on display. A few more signings and this side could upset a few!
