Cardiff City drew 0-0 with Darren Moore's Port Vale this evening in a disappointing showing.

Yousef Salech went closest in the first half with an effort wide on the half hour mark. Captain Calum Chambers almost put one in his own net, as his header hit the post of the City goal.

The only talking point from a dull second half was a disallowed goal for the hosts. Mitch Clark had the ball in the back of the net for the hosts early in the second half, however the fullback was just offside.

City come away with a point on the road.

Player Ratings:

Nathan Trott (7) MOTM - Only real positive from the evening. Looked assured and confident on the ball and commanded his area well. Cut out a crucial cutback in the box.

Ronan Kpakio (6) - Got forward nicely at times down the right. Defended decently as well. However, was caught out a handful of times and could be more eager on the ball.

Dylan Lawlor (6) - A steady improvement from the weekend. Decent on the ball, still had his challenges physically.

Calum Chambers (4.5) - Really poor in the first half. Almost scored an own goal but was ran ragged by Tolaj. Kept being over-eager and jumping out of position leaving the team vulnerable. Did make some key challenges in the second half.

Joel Bagan (4) - Really struggled. Too negative in offence and looked short of confidence defensively. Rash in the challenge as well.

Ryan Wintle (5.5) - Didn't really notice a great deal from Wintle. Some tidy pieces of play let down by poor deliveries from set pieces.

Rubin Colwill (5.5) - Was kept quiet for large spells in the game. Did spread the game well and some nice quick feet, but a real quiet evening.

Joel Colwill (6) - Looked his same eager and intense self early on, but struggled with the physicality of Port Vale. Some tidy play on the ball.

Ollie Tanner (4.5) - Looked lively early on, got forward well and linked up with Kpakio, just let himself down with the final delivery on close to every occasion. Wasteful in good positions.

Chris Willock (4.5) - Same story as Tanner. Except for a mazy run or two didn't show a great deal, and was even more wasteful.

Yousef Salech (5) - Same story as Saturday. No service and given a bit of a hard time by the referee.

Subs:

Cian Ashford (4.5) - A real frustrating one. Showed no intent and added very little when he was needed.

Will Fish (7) - Came in and did what was required. Did well in the air and on the ground.

David Turnbull (6.5) - Added a steady head in midfield and looked tidy. Some wayward simple passes.

Callum Robinson (N/A) - Brought on too late.

Isaak Davies (N/A) - Criminal to be getting five minutes at the end.

Summary:

A wake-up call maybe. Didn't even look like the same team from the weekend. No structure or intensity. A lot to work on.
