Cardiff City are looking to return to winning ways as John Eustace's Blackburn visit the Welsh Capital.
The Opposition:
Blackburn have had a season full of ups and downs so far. Rovers started well and looked as if they were set for a play-off battle this season, but after a poor festive run Blackburn have rocketed down the table. This led to the dismissal of Jon Dahl Tomasson, the Dane was replaced by former Birmingham boss John Eustace. Eustace has overseen a win, draw and a loss in his three games in charge so far.
Eustace has a direct style of play with heavy reliance on long balls. The 44 year-old has been praised for his man management skills, Eustace is known for being a great motivator and his teams show fighting spirit. However, Eustace has been criticised for his game management, things like subsitutes too late or the wrong subsitutes at times.
Blackburn sit 17th and just five points ahead of the relegation places heading into this one.
The Bluebirds:
Cardiff payed the price for a weak performance last time out as they lost 4-1 to play-off chasing Norwich City. The Bluebirds showed little to no fight and if anything the scoreline flattered them more than the hosts.
With the way Blackburn are likely to setup, it's likely Cardiff will have the majority of the ball, but will have to show more urgency and purpose in their attacking plays. The back two will have to be on their guards with Sam Gallagher being key for Rovers this season.
Cardiff still sit 14th coming into this one.
Team News:
Cardiff City - Ramsey, O'Dowda, Robinson, McGuinness, Alnwick and Meite out. Perry Ng a doubt due to a hip problem.
Blackburn Rovers - Fleck, Pickering, Carter and Rankin-Costello out for the visitors. John Buckley back available.
Preferred XI:
GK - Ethan Horvath
RB - Mahlon Romeo
RCB - Dimitrios Goutas
LCB - Nat Phillips
LB - Jamilu Collins
LDM - David Turnbull
RDM - Manolis Siopis
CAM - Rubin Colwill
RW - Ollie Tanner
LW - Karlan Grant
ST - Famara Diedhiou
Prediction:
Cardiff City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers
These are two struggling teams at the moment and I think that will be shown in this fixture. I don't see either side forming any real rhythm and it ending in a draw.
