Cardiff City have advanced to the Second Round of the Carabao Cup following a 3-2 win over Swindon Town.

Player Ratings:
Nathan Trott (6) - Didn't get close to either goal, however wouldn't place the blame on him for either. Distribution was strong, commanded his area fairly well.
Ronan Kpakio (4) - Particularly struggled, even more when Hungbo came on. Some sloppy passing and looked frail defensively. Hopefully putting it down to rust.
Perry Ng (6.5) - Didn't look massively comfortable in that role, but did do his job quite well. Distribution was impressive, allowing City to play out from the back. Read the game well, also.
Gabriel Osho (7.5) - An unfortunate own goal, however was notably stronger than last season. Strong ball carrying, and on the ball in general. Defensively strong, particularly late on. Passing range was impressive.
Joel Bagan (6.5) - Typical Bagan performance really, defensively fairly well, could question the positioning for the second goal. On the ball, tidy. Some nice passes in behind.
Alex Robertson (7.5) - Dictated the play very well. Spread play particularly well. Plenty of sharp and neat touches, also. Defensively, read the game well and held his own.
David Turnbull (7.5) - Thought Turnbull was very impressive. Neat touches and some positive attacking play, some great runs in behind. Passing range was impressive. Defensively did well enough.
Cian Ashford (8.5) MOTM - Ashford at the ten. It just makes sense. Direct and very effective on the ball, and an excellent outside of the foot cross to set up Salech's second. Defensively, relentless. Probably should've scored.
Ollie Tanner (6.5) - Some neat one/two touch pieces throughout. Direct at the fullback and caused problems, just needed that touch of quality in the final third.
Isaak Davies (6.5) - A quiet afternoon. Involved in the build-up for the first and second goal. Defensively, decent.
Yousef Salech (8.5) - A well-taken penalty, followed by an excellent finish for his second goal. Works very well to set up Moylan's goal, also. An effective striker performance, dropping in very well and generally did the dog's work very well.
Subs:
Joel Colwill (6) - Struggled to get involved in the game. Made some decent forward runs. Defensively did good enough.
Chris Willock (7) - Some very neat pieces of play. Worked particularly well with Moylan, setting up a couple of nice chances.
Jack Moylan (8) - Added an instant energy to City. An excellent finish to win it in the end. Forward thinking and full of quality, very exciting!
Summary:
Important win to get through to the next round. Will need to go up another level for Wrexham on Monday!
