Cardiff City secured a dramatic 4-3 win over Doncaster Rovers this afternoon.

The visitors took the lead quarter of an hour into the game. Luke Molyneux found and unmarked Owen Bailey in the box who's deflected effort beat Nathan Trott. City were soon level, however through Omari Kellyman. Isaak Davies broke free down the left and cut the ball back to Kellyman who's deflected effort brought Cardiff level.

The Bluebirds were soon in front as the inform Cian Ashford netted. Yousef Salech flicked the ball onto the City winger who drove forward before beating Thimothée Lo-Tutala in the box. Brandon Hanlan equalised just before the break with an effort from close range.

Yousef Salech put Cardiff back in front five minutes into the second half. Salech met Ryan Wintle's inch-perfect pass, and guided his effort just out of the reach of Lo-Tutala to net his tenth league goal.

Hanlan fired a one-on-one wide, before Harry Clifton brought the visitors back level. The Doncaster was unmarked in the Cardiff box and made no mistake. Clifton should've soon added his second but fired over from close range.

Joel Bagan would make Clifton pay, as he sealed all three points in the ninety-ninth minute, tapping in from close range.

Player Ratings:

Nathan Trott (6.5) - Made some key saves late on. Whether he can do more for a goal to do is difficult to decide. Distribution was okay.

Ronan Kpakio (5) - Largely struggled defensively in his half on the pitch. Got forward well, working well with Ashford. Just one or two sloppy actions, can maybe do more for the second goal.

Will Fish (4) - Just nothing went right for Fish. Ricochet for the first beats Trott, and simply has to do more for the second, really poor defending. One dimensional on the ball. Very unlike Fish showing.

Calum Chambers (6.5) - Stood up to the physical battle of Hanlan with varied success. Carried the ball well and looked to get City playing forward. Question marks over a couple of actions, but largely was decent.

Joel Bagan (7.5) - Not a bad time to pop up with a first goal in three years, great composure and vital. Largely struggled defensively against Molyneux. Got forward well.

Ryan Wintle (7) - Quieter than the last two or three games, but still contributes with a great assist. Tidy on the ball, just struggled to have an effect on the game out of possession.

Alex Robertson (6.5) - A tidy performance all-round. Worked hard out of possession, tidy and accurate on the ball.

Omari Kellyman (8) - Been brilliant since moving centrally. Gets a deserved goal. Drove forward really well and carried the ball superbly. Out of possession worked really hard. Fouled seven times tells you how much of a threat Doncaster saw Kellyman as.

Cian Ashford (9) MOTM - Another exceptional performance from Ashford. A goal earnt from shear endeavour. Plays a big part in the third, also. City's biggest threat in the final third. Worked hard out of possession, as usual.

Isaak Davies (7.5) - Doncaster really struggled with the pace of Davies. Great work to assist Kellyman's goal. A constant threat in his half on the pitch.

Yousef Salech (8.5) - Well-taken goal and a nice flick-on for Ashford's goal. Ran the front line really well. Link up play was impressive and did well in his duels.

Subs:

Dylan Lawlor (7) - Far more steady than Fish. Distributed the ball well, looking to get forward.

Perry Ng (7) - Largely assured things down the right. Did well defensively, good on the ball and looked to get forward.

Chris Willock (7) - Added something down the left for Cardiff. Looked to beat his man and got some success. A good cameo.

David Turnbull (7) - Involved in his time on the pitch and did well. Tidy in and out of possession.

Callum Robinson (6.5) - Added a threat for Cardiff in the final third. Tidy in possession.

Summary:

And breathe... another huge victory at the CCS for City!
