BLUEBIRDS LOOK TO BUILD ON VICTORY

Cardiff City are back in the Welsh Capital as they host Michael Duff's Wycombe Wanderers.

The Opposition:
The Chairboys caught the eye in the summer with impressive business, but struggled under Mike Dodds who was dismissed in September, and replaced by Michael Duff. Since Duff's appointment, Wycombe have charged up the table and sit firmly in the playoff mix ahead of the run-in.
Duff favours compact, disciplined teams that press aggressively out of shape and transition quickly, often prioritizing organization over possession. He commonly uses a back three or five with wing-backs, focusing on vertical play, physical intensity, and strong set-piece routines.
Wycombe sit ninth ahead of kick-off, and could move into the play-off places with victory in the Welsh capital.
The Bluebirds:
City come into this one on the back of a dominant 4-0 win over Exeter City. Rubin Colwill's first half brace, plus second half goals from Alex Robertson and Callum Robinson were enough to end City's two game winless run.
By dominating possession with sharp positional play, quick rotations, and patient circulation to pull Duff’s compact shape apart, City can create overloads between the lines and attack the spaces left by aggressive pressing.
Opposition Player to Watch:

Fred Onyedinma posed a serious threat in the reverse fixture, and has shone in the front line for The Chairboys so far this season. Onyedinma is a quick, direct winger known for his explosive acceleration and ability to drive at defenders in one-on-one situations. He often plays wide, using pace and work rate to stretch the defence, press opponents, and deliver crosses or cut inside to create chances.
The forward began his career at Millwall, and after two loan spells at Wycombe Wanderers he confirmed a permanent move to The Chairboys in 2019. After two seasons as a permanent Wycombe player, Onyedinma joined Luton Town in a permanent deal. After a loan move back to Rotherham United, Onyedinma completed a permanent move back to Wycombe in 2024. The Nigerian has nine goals and two assists so far this season.
Last Meeting:
Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Cardiff City (2026)

Wycombe frustrated The Bluebirds on New Year's Day. Despite several big missed chances by City, they were held to a point at Adams Park.
Chris Willock opened the scoring earlier on, before a Ronan Kpakio error led to Caolan Boyd-Munce pouncing and securing a point for the hosts.
Team News:
Cardiff City - Yousef Salech, Isaak Davies and Eli King remain out injured for The Bluebirds.
Wycombe Wanderers - Alex Lowry, Josh Scowen, Cauley Woodrow and Dan Casey out for the visitors.
Preferred XI:
