Cardiff City fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Neil Harris’ Millwall.

The Bluebirds began strongly but it was the hosts who took the lead. Michael Obafemi reacted quickest at the back post to finish and give his team the advantage after nine minutes.

Erol Bulut's Bluebirds soon got back into the flow and deservedly levelled the match after 24 minutes. Yakou Méïté met Rubin Colwill's deep free kick to head home his second goal of the campaign.

City had a good opportunity to take the lead after 43 minutes. The hosts failed to clear Joe Ralls' corner kick with the ball falling to Nat Phillips in the box. The defender shot left footed, but off target.

Bulut's side were punished for not taking this chance in first half added time. Millwall captain Jake Cooper lashed into the roof of the net at close range to give his side the advantage back.

Ralls' strike from distance after 67 minutes troubled shot stopper Šarkić, but he managed to hold the ball.

A late leveller wasn't to be though, with Millwall catching the Bluebirds on the counter to kill the game off. Substitute Duncan Watmore scored the third for the hosts, securing an important three points for them.

Summary:

After a seemingly positive first half performance, a shame to take a defeat, last three games to play for pride.
