BACK-TO-BACK WINS FOR RIZA

Cardiff City have won back-to-back league games for the first time this season, after a comfortable 2-0 win over Portsmouth this evening.

Callum Robinson celebrating.

It was a dream start for The Bluebirds, as Perry Ng fired a ball across the box and Regan Poole turned home into his own net to give City an early lead.

Cardiff soon doubled their lead through Callum Robinson. Alex Robertson's corner met the head of Dimitrios Goutas who headed into the path of Robbo to net his fourth goal of the season.

Ollie Tanner and Anwar El Ghazi went close with powerful efforts. Before, David Turnbull tested his luck with two long-range efforts but neither were successful.

Jak Alnwick was called into action around the hour mark. Kusini Yengi's effort took a nick of Callum Lang, but Alnwick met the effort to tip away. Anwar El Ghazi was soon denied from a one-on-one.

Rubin Colwill had a late free-kick kept out by the impressive Jordan Archer. And that's all she wrote, another three points for The Bluebirds.

Player Ratings:

Jak Alnwick (8) - Some real good saves in crucial moments. Commanded his area well. Some excellent distribution as well.

Perry Ng (8) - Did really well to limit Josh Murphy. Got in some nice areas offensively and was effective. All-round a really good performance.

Dimtrios Goutas (8.5) MOTM - Just continuing to get better. Had an answer to everything whether that be on the floor or in the air. Very tidy assist as well.

Calum Chambers (7.5) - Another who continues to grow. Thought Chambers had a very solid outing. Some great passes to break lines as well.

Callum O'Dowda (7.5) - Got forward really well and worked well with El Ghazi and Robinson. Solid defensive showing.

Alex Robertson (8) - Another promising performance where he really had to dig in defensively. Some really good set piece deliveries.

David Turnbull (7.5) - One day one of those shots will go in. Simply did what Turnbull does best, kept City ticking with some real tidy play, worked hard in and out of possession.

Rubin Colwill (8) - Another slick performance. A nice little trio forming of Colwill, Tanner and Robertson, the interplay is a different level. Colwill was everywhere yet again.

Ollie Tanner (7.5) - No one will ever be able to question Ollie Tanner's commitment levels, works so hard offensively and defensively. Got in some promising areas and unlucky not to score.

Anwar El Ghazi (7.5) - Arguably El Ghazi's best performance so far. Loved his intensity and desire. Linked well with O'Dowda. Probably should've had at least one goal.

Callum Robinson (8) - A proper poacher's finish, right place at the right time. Works so hard for the team, and links up well with those around him.

Subs:

Andy Rinomhota (6.5) - Another game where Rino has come and shored things up for City. Another promising cameo.

Manolis Siopis (6.5) - Same as Rinomhota.

Chris Willock (6.5) - Another promising cameo for Willock as well. Made a handful of chances in his twelve minutes on the pitch, just getting better each week.

Yakou Meite (6.5) - Solid defensive showing.

Wilfried Kanga (N/A)

Summary:

The Riza train continues to journey on. Another promising and pleasurable showing. Onto a tough run of fixtures now!
