ANOTHER POINT ON THE BOARD FOR CARDIFF

Cardiff have drawn 1-1 with high-flying Middlesbrough this afternoon.

Calum Chambers celebrating.

Cardiff were the first side to test their luck in this one. The Bluebirds worked the ball out to Ollie Tanner on the left, the winger cut inside and wrapped an effort towards goal that was parried away by Tom Glover.

Boro would soon take the lead through Emannuel Latte Lath. City failed to deal with Ben Doak down the right who crossed the ball into the path of Latte Lath who made no mistake inside the box.

The Bluebirds would come back with a goal of their own. A failed corner saw the ball fall to Dael Fry who flicked the ball out of the Middlesbrough area at the feet of Calum Chambers who found the top corner for his first Cardiff goal.

Both sides had big opportunities to win it in the second half. Latte Lath had a header from point-blank range saved by Jak Alnwick. Rubin Colwill also then had a header from inside the box but headed wide.

The two sides would share the points in the end.

Player Ratings:

Jak Alnwick (7) - Made a couple of saves that he should be saving, but were key for Cardiff. Feel he could do slightly better for the goal.

Andy Rinomhota (8) - Continues to get better each week. Always found himself in the right place at the right time to stop dangerous Boro moves.

Dimitrios Goutas (7.5) - Allowed Latte Lath across him slightly too easily for the goal. Outside of that, was his usual solid self, making crucial last ditch tackles and blocks.

Jesper Daland (8) - Bounced back tremendously well after a disappointing performance last time out. Just cleared anything that came his way, became key late on.

Callum O'Dowda (6) - Struggled against a rapid Ben Doak. Probably needs to deal with him better for the goal. Picking up an early yellow card didn't help either.

Calum Chambers (8.5) MOTM - Should be up front with the kind of finishing. Excellent from start to finish. Broke up play well and was decent on the ball. Midfield is suiting Chambo quite well.

Manolis Siopis (7.5) - His usual energetic self. Pressing high and dragging City up the pitch late on. Won some key free-kicks to relieve pressure. A little sloppy on the ball at times.

Alex Robertson (6.5) - A quiet afternoon because of the way the game unfolded. What he did have the ball was neat and tidy, put in a graft off the ball.

Cian Ashford (6.5) - Similar to Robertson.

Ollie Tanner (6.5) - Similar to Robertson & Ashford in many ways. Saw a bit more of action and came close with a decent effort.

Rubin Colwill (6.5) - Battled hard throughout in and unfamiliar position. Challenged and won a fair few headers. Squandered the game winning chance unfortunately.

Subs:

Chris Willock (6.5) - Another who battled hard and looked tidy with what he did have of the ball.

Yakou Meite (6.5) - Typical battling Yak performance. Took a knock for his efforts.

Joel Bagan (6) - Didn't see a great deal of action in his time on the pitch.

Joe Ralls (7) - Drove the team forward late on and worked hard as always.

Summary:

Another good battling point. No complaints from me.
