Cardiff fell to a ninth home defeat of the season as they lost 3-1 to Hull City.
Cardiff had the better of the chances early on. Jamilu Collins had a powerful striker stopped from Ex-Bluebird Ryan Allsop. Bowler was next to try his luck, as he broke free down the right, Bowler approached the byline and his low cross was cut out just before reaching Grant.
Horvath was called into action for the first time from Omur, who forced a good save from the American.
Hull were ahead not long later, as a corner at the front post was met by Turnbull who unfortunately headed it into the direction of Fabio Carvalho, who made no mistake at the back post.
The Tigers doubled their lead just before half-time, after some fine build up play Carvalho found space in the box and rooted Horvath to the spot as he doubled his tally.
The Bluebirds got one back near the hour mark as Grant found himself in behind, and a powerful effort beat Allsop at his near post.
Hull secured a third not long later. A lapse of concentration from Nat Phillips saw Jaden Philogene race through on goal, and the Ex-Bluebird made no mistake. Hull almost had a fourth a minute late, but Omur's effort hit the woodwork.
The Tigers should've had a fourth in stoppage time, as Philogene smashed an effort over one-on-one with Horvath. That was that, an unfortunate defeat for The Bluebirds.
Player Ratings:
Ethan Horvath (6) - Made some decent save to stop things from getting humiliating. Not sure he can do a great deal for the goals. Distribution was decent.
Perry Ng (5) - Thought he deal with Philogene fairly well until the first goal. Then Philogene began to find himself in loads of room. Some decent offensive stuff.
Dimitrios Goutas (5) - Dominated things in the air, otherwise didn't have a great deal of success. Probably needs to get tighter to Carvalho for the second, at least that's what Bulut gestured to him.
Nat Phillips (4) - Hard to look past it was a mistake from Phillips that ended the game for Cardiff. A lapse of concentration that just can't be afforded at this level. Outside of that was ok.
Jamilu Collins (6) - Looked tidy enough against good opposition. Did well to get an assist, as well.
Manolis Siopis (6.5) - Gave it his all and was at the root of Cardiff's decent work on the ball. As hard as he tried, unfortunately Sio still ended up getting overran by a powerful Hull midfield.
David Turnbull (6.5) - When involved Turnbull did some really tidy and encouraging stuff. Perhaps could have got slightly more involved and put himself about slightly more. His substitution definitely effect The Bluebirds.
Joe Ralls (6.5) - Similar to Siopis really. Ralls tried his hardest, and out himself about especially pressing in the final third. However, nothing of note came off for Rallsy.
Josh Bowler (5) - Cardiff's best chances in the first half came down Bowler's side, just unable to make the right decision when it matters. Faded out in the second half.
Karlan Grant (7) MOTM - Hull just couldn't deal with Grant's pace. KG caused the Hull backline all sorts of problems, and got a deserved goal.
Yakou Meite (6.5) - Felt Meite held up the ball really well, and was first to most things. Ran the Hull backline and was good aerially. Same story in front of goal, unfortunately.
Subs:
Josh Wilson-Esbrand (6) - Looked energetic when he came on, and got down the left hand side well. A shame to see JWE pull up the way he did.
Aaron Ramsey (6.5) - Brought urgency to The Bluebirds midfield, and tried to make things happen. Unfortunately, nothing of note did come off.
Famara Diedhiou (5) - Failed to make an impact, again.
Ollie Tanner (6) - Looked sharp when he came on. Tried one or two things that unfortunately didn't quite come off.
Summary:
Unfortunately another game where mistakes cost Cardiff. Some spells to be encouraged by against a good side. Plenty of things to work on, however.
